AN: Hi you guys! Let's just pretend that it's still Sunday, even though it's Tuesday ayyyyyye. Basically me being me
Niall woke up, his hair in his face. He could smell the sweat on his sheets. Then, he remembered what had happened the night before.
Shit.
He shot up, expecting to see a certain curly haired boy lying in his bed, but that's not what he found. He found an empty bed, the duvet thrown back where Harry had spent his night.
He had left.
Seriously?
But then again, why was he even surprised? Of course he had, why would he stay? Niall was just an annoying extra in his life he had to get rid of. Harry had cheated on him, he had the Nick guy anyway. They would become happy.
You don't know whether he cheated on you or not, his mind said, but his heart ignored it. The pain was too much. And even though he didn't really know, he knew. He could feel that whenever Harry looked at him, he stared at him sadly, as if he knew he'd lose him soon enough.
An innocent person doesn't do something like that, right?
Niall got up, ignoring the empty bed, and walked into the bedroom. Red spots were covering his chest, as if trying to remember him what had happened that night. As if he didn't already know. As if he didn't regret it.
It shouldn't have happened. He had been weak, he had felt alone. Everyone needs a little love sometimes, right?
In a way, it was more Harry's fault than his. Harry was not as weak as he was, he should have stopped Niall. Had he just taken advantage of Niall to taunt him? A voice in Niall's head was telling him that maybe, maybe Harry couldn't resist, because he loved Niall back. But Niall ignored that voice, because it just couldn't be true. He didn't want to get his hopes up anyways. Sooner or later, the truth would come out, and he had to be ready for it. He had to expect the worst. Because even when he expected nothing, he was still let down.
Niall couldn't help but remember the nights he spent sitting up in his bed, awake, listening to his parents shouting at each other, jumping every time his mother threw a plate at his father's head. He couldn't help but think back of the times he watched his mother leave, slamming the door behind her, not thinking about the fact that she had a son that needed her. He remembered watching his father cry, and feeling his heart break when he did. But Niall couldn't cry. He felt like it was his fault, and he didn't have the right to be sad.
Later on, he found out his father had cheated on his mother. He regretted it, of course, because Maura was a wonderful woman. Niall could almost hear him yelling that he hadn't meant it. And hearing Maura answer that it had still happened.
His parents never really got over it. His father still loved his mother, and his mother still loved his father, but they decided they couldn't keep pretending that they were alright.
They got a divorce.
Niall cried, his mother cried and his father cried. But they had to do it. They couldn't keep on living that way. That one fault that Bobby had made had killed them all, their love and their dreams.
And now, it was happening all over again.
Maybe Niall was wearing a sign that said 'Cheaters welcome'?
Probably.
Niall felt a pang of sadness and pain in his heart as he went back to his old ways, whispering to himself to calm down.
