You waited in silence for a few minutes at the kitchen table. neither of you had any reason to talk. You sat watching the clock, and Jeff sat watching you. A couple times you looked to glare at him, but neither of you said a word.

You heard a car horn, and Jeff jumped up. He stood next to your chair, waiting for you to stand up. You stood up slowly, grabbing your keys and stepping outside with him. He pointed you towards the car and you hesitated. You didn't know who or what was in there.

A boy looking slightly older than Jeff stepped out. His hair was paler, a golden brown, but just as long as Jeff's. His eyes were the same blue, just missing the grey; he looked identical to your new house mate. Except the scars. He had scars on either side of his mouth, reaching up his cheeks, where they started to fade.

"This is Lui." Jeff said to you.

"My brother."

You turned to look at Jeff.

"You never told me you had a brother."

Lui walked towards you, interrupting the conversation.

"He doesn't like to accept he still has a brother."

As he spoke you noticed the scar on his neck, looking as if it had been slit.

"I was almost dead, Jeff thought I was, and he still can't accept the fact that I'm still here"

Lui took your hand gently and pulled you away, opening the car door and closing it behind you. He walked towards Jeff and you saw them talking. You couldn't hear what they were saying, but you could see it was upsetting Jeff.

Lui hugged him and walked to the car, climbing into the drivers seat. You checked the time on your phone. 3:40.

Lui looked over at your phone, and you instinctively pulled it away.

"You have to be at work at 4, right?"

You nodded.

"I can get you there for then."

You sat back and relaxed, relieved that he could do it. He seemed nice, nicer than Jeff, but you still felt some hate towards him. He and his brother looked almost identical, give and take a few features, and you knew neither of them well.

You had arrived at the Chinese takeaway in no time. The journey was quiet, with only the sound of the engine breaking the silence.
