When you had arrived back at the house you were out of breath and sweating.
'What did you think you were doing?' Jeff asked you sternly, but you could hear it, you could hear the heartbreak when he spoke.
'I... I was going to leave.'
It didn't surprise you that he stayed silent, but that was enough to show he was hurting. You started to cry. You hadn't felt it build build up or overwhelm you, it just... happened. Warm hands came from behind you, and his breath on your neck made everything disappear; it was just you and him.

You woke up on the sofa. You had no idea why you were there, or how you got there, all you knew that Jeff was nowhere to be seen.
'Jeff?'
There was no answer. You checked the time. 11pm. You had slept through the afternoon.
After searching the house you gave up and sat where you woke up. The house was quiet. Too quiet. You were too awake and restless to put up with this, but there was nothing to do.
The door opened quietly and someone walked in. Silently, swiftly, stealthily. The hair on the back of your neck stood up on end. You froze. Thoughts started racing through your head. They're going to kill me. The persons footsteps came closer, but you still couldn't move. Jeff. Help me. Save me.
You felt the person grab your wrist and pull you to your feet. Your breathing caught. You were sure you were going to die. The lights were off so you couldn't see who it was, but you could guess that your killer was male. He pulled you close to him, into his chest. He was warm, but smelled like blood. He held you gently, and you felt a soft kiss on your head, before he pushed you away again. His lips touched your chin, then your neck, where they stayed for a few seconds. He nuzzled into your neck, pulling you close and holding you gently.
'I'm sorry'
It was Jeff. You relaxed into his arms, and leaned against him for support. The relief of safety tired you, making you unsteady. He kissed your neck again, but for longer, making your legs weak.
Jeff picked you up and carried you to bed, getting in with you, holding you close until you fell asleep. Fell asleep with the smell of blood filling the room.
