Klaus stopped at a gas station somewhere in a small town.

"Where are we going we have been traveling for two hours." I say sighing. He puts his credit card into the machine and gets te gas pump ready.

"Caroline, we are heading a very long way from here." I roll my eyes at him and let out a disagreeing groan.

I look at my phone and see three missed calls from Bonnie and five messages from Damon,

'Hey barbie, bon bon needs you.', 'Where are you?', 'Did someone stake you?', 'Call Bonnie.', 'Caroline are you ok?' As I read over Damon's texts Klaus closes the gas pump door in the car and looks at me.

"Are you ready?" He asks. I sigh and look back between the messages and the calls.

"Yeah, let's go-" I almost finish my sentence when sharp pain comes into my lower back and around my shoulders. I scream in pain and fall on the ground. Klaus catches me before I go face to face with the pavement.

"Get them!" I hear an unfamiliar voice shout.

Klaus opened the nearest car door and put me inside swiftly and carefully.

"Klaus.. ," I say weakly, the pain in my back increasing. He moves me to the side quickly so my back isn't touching any material but my shirt. I groan, these were wooden bullets. I could feel them inching their way closer and deeper into my skin.

"Shh, I'll be back in a moment." He says quietly, and carefully closing the door behind him.

He had put me in th passenger side, my original seat. I turn towards my window only to feel pain. I could feel the wooden bullets but they were laiced with vervain... I could smell it, and feel it. I let out a groan and make my way to the opposite side of my seat. I see Klaus talking with someone but I can't hear them over the pain and aggony of my shoulders and back. The next thing I saw was Klaus ripping some hearts and making his way into the gas store.

I closed my eyes and tried to picture the pain away but it didn't it only got stronger. Suddlenly Klaus came came into the car and began driving without a sound. I turn over slowly holding my stomach. I could barely breath and his speeding through an old town road didn't help. After five minutes we were no longer in the small town.

The SUV came to a hault in front of a hotel. I couldn't stay awake any longer. Klaus had tried keeping me awake but I was weak, and he knew that. I closed my eyes and began to drift off.

"Caroline, Caroline... ," He began and I slowly opened my eyes. "Caroline, I want you to stay here, I will come back in a moment." He says softly running his hand across my face. I shivered at his touch. I nodded and he left to get us rooms... or a room.

I closed my eyes once more. The pain reminded me of the time Silas stabbed me under that tree, or when Tyler bit me, and all of the other times I had been tortured or stabbed or killed. I began to cry. Someone was coming towards the car but in the blur of my tears I couldn't see who it was. They got into the driver seat and began to drive to the back of the hotel.

"Hang in there Caroline, we are almost there." He says gently moving his hand across my face.

After a few minutes of going up through a car garage we stop. There were men waiting outside the elevator doors waiting for us I presume. Klaus parked the car and got out quickly to help me. He took me into his arms gently and examined my back for a second before he shifted. He sat me in the seat and wrapped my legs around his waist, I took in what was happening and wrapped my arms around his neck.

He put a blanket over my back and began to carry me inside. People stared and pointed, but I didn't care. If they were going through the pain of wooden, vervain laiced, bullets they would be in a cemetary. Klaus didn't waste time and sped to a room on the tenth floor.

He opened the door to the room and I noticed it was a suite. He set made his way to a bedroom and set me down gently. Then he brings in his bag from outside. When did they get here? He made his way towards me with plyers and tweasers.

"Do you want me to take them out on the bed or do you want me to get a chair?" He asked me.

"I don't care just get them out, please!" I say choking back a sob.

I felt his hands slip under my shirt and rip it. "Be strong love." He said before starting to take out every one of the bullets. It was like having a knife being stuck into your back and just spinning it around. I tried hard not to scream, pain was filling every ounce of my body. I bit the pillow my head was resting on.

After twenty agonizing minutes I didn't feel the plyers anymore.

"It's done." He says biting into his wrist and feeding me his blood.

"Klaus," I croak. I felt a tear running down my cheak, I was still in pain. And I wasn't healing very fast. I could feel the vervain was still in my system, inching it's way deeper and deeper into my skin, but Klaus's blood was begining to work. "Thank You." I say blinking away the tears so I could see him. He smiled slightly. I try turning around and Klaus helps me so I'm laying on my side.

"No need to thank me, love." He says, sitting down beside me and carefully grabbing my face laid a small kiss on my cheak. "I won't let anything happen to you." I had no control over my tears. But I blinked a few away.

"Will you stay here?" I ask sounding like a child. He smiled and took one last lookd over me so he could see my back. He sighs and smiles sweetly before answering.

"Yes Caroline I'll stay with you." I moved back a little but and he laid down beside me. Soon he slipped his arm under my neck and I brought my hands up to his chest and cuddled into him. And hoping this wasn't a dream, I fell asleep in the only place I felt safe in... Klaus's arms.
