Hayes sat at the table, which was only five a.m. Hayes couldn't sleep he keep having nightmares, his team was shrinking. He couldn't think straight and this was hurting his brain. Hayes shook his head and looked at the clock and decided to take a shower to clear his mind.
Hayes got out of the shower and walked to his room. He grabbed a pair of boxers and a plain white t-shirt, a pair of black jeans, and grabbed his varsity jacket. He dried off his body and slipped on his clothes. He brushed his hair and just left it messy, he grabbed his bag and grabbed a pair of socks and slipped it on then a pair of black high-tops. He ran downstairs and walked outside.
He walked to school so he could clear his mind. He jogged over to the football field and sat on the bench. He knew he must've looked weird, since it's just turning light, and it was only about 5:30, and people won't usually show til around six a.m.
"Hayes?" Hayes turned and saw Emma walking towards him. She was wearing a black tanktop, covered with her white sweatshirt, and wearing gray sweatpants, she had her hands in her pockets and Hayes jumped up.
"Emma?" Hayes asked as he started to mess with his hair, but stopped and Emma raised her eyebrow when she reached him.
"Why are you out here?" Emma asked as Hayes shoved his hands in his pockets and laughed.
"I should really be asking you that." Hayes said as Emma shook her head and Hayes sighed.
"Having you on the team was one the biggest mistakes in my life." Hayes said as Emma frowned and she placed her hand on her hip.
"Then why did you?" Emma asked as Hayes shrugged and Emma rolled her eyes. "Hayes you put me on the team cause you thought I was a good player, not because you wanted to piss off people around you." Emma said as Hayes raised his eyebrow at her.
"I put you on the team cause all the other people suck ass." Hayes said as Emma rolled her eyes.
"Please, you liked me playing on the field! I tackled you!" Emma yelled as she pointed towards the field and Hayes shook his head.
"I wasn't ready for it, besides you should just quit the team." Hayes said as Emma widened her eyes and walked over towards Hayes and slapped him.
"I'm not quitting! I don't care if you lose the team, if their scared to play with a girl so what! I'm good and you know it. Why are you so scared to admit it?" Emma asked as Hayes gulped.
"Cause I hate admitting things when I know other people are right." Hayes said as Emma nodded and turned around and started to walk back, she stopped and turned towards Hayes.
"If I quit and the team gets back together would you be right then?" Emma asked as Hayes raised his eyebrow and Emma nodded.
"Hayes you just lost your kicker." Emma said as she threw her bag at him and ran away. Hayes widened his eyes and pick up her bag and started to chase her. With the buses pulling up, it looked strange to see Emma running away and Hayes chasing her with her bag in his hand.
"Emma! Stop!" Hayes yelled as he ran into someone and fell on the ground. Hayes jumped up and shook his head as he looked around the school. His blue eyes traced all around for Emma but he couldn't find her.
"Hayes?" Matthew asked as Hayes turned and he ran his hand through his brown hair and grabbed Matthew and pulled him to the side.
"Have you seen Emma?" Hayes asked as Matthew shook his head.
"I seen her running, then Jessie took her to the side and no more Emma." Matthew said as Hayes groaned and nodded.
"Why are you looking for her?" Matthew asked as he raised his eyebrow at Hayes.
"I need to talk to her about something." Hayes said as he squeezed onto Emma's bag. Matthew nodded and the two walked to school and Hayes looked for Emma, and Matthew looked over at his friend with concern.
