Football Captain (Hayes Grier/Magcon Boys)

Chapter Eleven

Hayes sat in math class, his mind was full of the words that Emma said. He didn't know what to say, his mind was racing. His dream was to become a huge football player, but when Emma walked in his life everything changed and he didn't know how to feel about that. He was going by that everyone liked him, which was true, but when Emma said she didn't like him the feeling was so new to him and he didn't know how to react to it.

Holding on t her bookbag wasn't helping either. He knew that yelling at her wasn't gonna solve the problem but it was the only way that Hayes felt good, but when she ran away. That feeling of her not liking him, or when he saw Shawn broke his leg. His whole world stopped but he couldn't breathe and when Emma stepped into his life it was everything he wanted. That's when Hayes realized something.

Hayes was in love with Emma.

His heart raced and his palms became sweaty. His breathing became un even and Matthew touched his arm and Hayes' blue eyes stared at him and he jumped up. HE ran out the room and fell against the lockers.

Hayes wasn't ready, after seeing Nash broken hearts but Cameron was there to fix him, and seeing his father re-married wasn't great. Not that Hayes didn't believe love, he knew it was real. But he thought that it only happened to special people, and he always thought he wasn't gonna have it.

Hayes closed his eyes and gripped onto his hair and his breathing became slower. He took deep breathes and finally sighed. Hayes looked back at the classroom and took out his phone and dialed Carter's number.

"Hello?" Carter asked as he rubbed his eyes, and Hayes could tell he just woke up due to the fact he was talking slower than usual.

"Carter! I totally messed up man! And wanna hear the best part? I just fell in love and that's not possible right? I'm only in high school and it's not right to fall I-."

"Hayes! Calm down, it'll be okay. Just breathe and everything will be okay. Who's the girl?" Carter asked as Hayes took a deep breathe.

"Emma." Hayes said as Carter groaned.

"Please don't tell me she's friends with Jessie and Ava." Carter said as HAyes stayed silent and Carter groaned even more.

"She's friend with Ava? The one dating Jack Gilinsky who could and will snap you like a twig!" Carter exclaimed as Hayes bite his lip.

"Yeah, yeah. I know that, but I seriously need help! How do I get her back?" Hayes asked as Carter sighed and looked at his ceiling.

"I have a plan but we need to met up at that diner downtown." Carter said as Hayes nodded.

Emma was fuming I guess you could say. Her mind was angry but her heart was aching. She didn't know how to feel. Her mind was racing and she didn't know why.

She was angry yes, but also heart broken. All she ever wanted was to play football, something to escape her life. Greggy had drawing, her dad was work, and all she had was football. But when she made the team she thought it was gonna be easy, win the game for the boys and they'll accept her as their own teammate, but she was wrong. It wasn't like a tv show and this was real life. All she had to do was figure out the true meaning.
