They say kisses are meant to be magical, they say that they was too complete your love for that certain person. But they never mentioned that, that one person could also break you. They never said that love hurts, it was like 'you'll find someone but we won't tell you all about the hard things you have to go though' kinda thing.
Emma felt like she was on cloud nine and for some reason she wanted to pull away. The person who as kissing her was the same person who made her quit her dreams, the same person who wouldn't listen to his own brain and through all the thoughts in her mind, she knew why she was letting this person kiss her.
She was in love with Hayes.
Through all the shit he put her through, all the troubling thoughts that came across her mind, and even to the cold heart that she created, somehow Hayes was the one who was able to fit through there. Making it beat with warmness once again, but then again Emma was thinking that this was all for Hayes to feel better, to make him think that everyone likes him, and Emma was going to be psised if it was that.
Emma was finally able to push him away and shook her head. Hayes looked over at her, with his bruised lips, and Emma grabbed the end of her dress and tried to run out the room without messing up the dress and she didn't want to stop since Hayes was calling her.
She didn't want her life to end up like a cliche thing.
As she reached outside all Emma wanted to do was pick up Greggy from the nanny they hired, she wanted to bring him home so she could go home also. She wished that she pulled away sooner from Hayes, but she also didn't want to.
"Emma! Where are you going?" Hayes asked as Emma scoffed and looked around the parking lot, hoping someone could just show up and offer her a ride, maybe she could have a small cinderella moment.
"I need to leave." Emma replied as Hayes grabbed her arm and made her face him.
"Why?" Hayes asked as his icy blue eyes stared into her brown eyes.
"I need to leave." Emma pressed again as Hayes eyes narrowed.
"No," Hayes said making Emma glare over at him. "You need to stay so we can sort this out. I don't want to fight anymore Emma. I just want us to be friends." Hayes lied at the last part, but missing the sadden look in Emma's eyes.
"I need to get Greggy." Emma said as she ripped her arm away from his grip and looked away.
"It's prom, you need to have fun!" Hayes said as Emma shook her head.
"No." Emma said as Hayes frowned but grabbed her hand, making her blush but she was going to blame it on the cold.
"Then let me have one dance." Hayes whispered as Emma looked over at him.
Her brown eyes stared into his icy blue eyes. They could be called fire and rain, ice and heat, yin and yang. Whatever you think of, but Emma couldn't and didn't want to admit that she loves Hayes, at least not out loud, and telling him that could be the happiest moment or the worst moment of his life.
No way in between.
Emma just stared into his eyes, while Hayes kept his grip on her hand and neither of them was smiling, it was like the most serious moment in Emma's life. Whatever her answer was could affect both of them, and she didn't want that to happen.
"Please." Hayes whispered as he brought her close, leaning down, pressing his forehead against hers. His nose touched hers, making her glasses sorta touched his face, her hands was slowly brought to his shoulders, and Hayes wrapped one hand on her waist and the other on on her cheek.
Neither of them broke their eye contact, besides blinking, you could hear their breath coming from their noses and their chest was moving up and down. It was like the world was frozen and no one was here but Hayes and Emma.
"When did you start liking football?" Hayes asked as he slowly started to sway them.
"Since I was about five." Emma answered as Hayes smiled and Emma grabbed the end of her dress.
"How upset was you whenever you quit the team?" Hayes asked as Emma laughed and shook her head.
"I wasn't upset, I was angry and I wanted to rip off your head." Emma said with a small smile and Hayes raised his eyebrow but he didn't frown, instead he keep his smile on his face.
"Angry?" Hayes asked as Emma nodded and Hayes spun her around in her place and pulled her back to his chest.
"I never said yes." Emma said as Hayes leaned down near her ear.
"You never pulled away." Hayes whispered as Emma looked into his icy blue eyes and sighed as she placed her forehead on his chest.
"I know." Emma said as Hayes smiled and continued to sway them as he started to hum some random tune.
It was rather peaceful and neither of the two wanted to let each other go, they wanted to stay in this place together forever but sometime soon they had to let each other go and did need to say goodbye.
"I'm sorry." Hayes said so softly making Emma smile and she looked up at him.
"I know." She said making Hayes smile even more bigger than before.
