(Alex's POV)
Fred lied on the couch of the common room asleep. It didn't look like he was fast asleep because it looked as if he tossed himself onto the couch. George laughed and flipped the bag over Fred, causing its contents to rain on Fred. He grinned, eyes closed, and started rolling in the chocolate bars on the floor. He grabbed one and began to unwrap it.
He paused, smiling. "I just got a lovely idea for all the candy I have and these."
George laughed, jumping onto the couch. "Eat it ourselves?"
"Brilliant! Why didn't I think of that?" I laughed.
Fred rapidly shoved the candy into a bag nearby. "Dream bigger, Georgie." He spawned out his broom.
George's eyes widened. "Alex, you may want your broom."
"What? Why?"
Fred had flown out and George simply grinned, shoving more chocolate into bags that were near him. "Do you trust me?"
Our eyes locked and the world was silent for that moment.
"O-of course." I spawned out my broom and hopped on.
"Then follow me." George flew out, snatching the bags of candy.
I followed after him, taking sharp, sudden turns and nearly hitting the walls just to keep up with him. We shortly caught up with Fred as the three of us flew out of the castle and over the roof.
"So what's the plan?" I flew to George's side.
He tossed a bag at me and pointed at Fred. Fred laughed as he flipped the bag over, pouring its contents out on Hogsmeade.
"CHOCOLATE FOR EVERYONE!" George poured his chocolate over the smiling students.
I began to pour my chocolate over the students as they tried to follow the trail of chocolates we were leaving behind. Fred laughed and spiraled out the last bag of chocolate we had. George turned to fly over the lake.
I followed, simply trying to keep him in my sight. He looked back at me and winked, then flew faster. Fred roughly passed me and I lost control of my broom.
I fell off and could see the water coming closer. It looked like a hard flat surface. I closed my eyes and when I opened them I saw George's face. I looked around and noticed he was carrying me.
He smiled. "Do you always fall off your broom?"
Feeling myself blush, I looked away. "You know what, that was only the second time in the 4 years I've been flying that broom. So wouldn't say anything if I was you."
He laughed and helped me onto the back of his broom. "It looks like we'll have to get you a new one though. Poor little thing is sinking down to the bottom of the lake."
I looked down at my broom. It was sinking as fast as it was becoming the darkness of the lake. I sighed. "It'll be a while until I can get a new broom."
George looked at the sunset, then looked over his shoulder at me. "Close your eyes."
I did as he said, but I was unsure.
"Trust me." He said.
I felt his hands wrapping my arms around his waist. The wind picked up, and I could tell we were flying. I felt us descend and then something was gently pushing my feet back like a gently current of a river.
"Alex, you can open them now."
I opened my eyes to snow-covered forests on both sides of the river. The trees almost touched the top of George's head. There were colorful creatures swiming just below the surface of the water. Deer could be clearly seen running through the forests or staring at us. There was a fox with a smaller fox beside it drinking water.
George placed one of his hands on mine. Our speed slowed. I gently grabbed onto his hand, and he gently squeezed.
"I'm worried Alex..."
"Why?" I pressed myself against his back.
"I often wonder where you go off to at night, but that isn't what I'm worried about." I could hear his heart beat a little faster, a little louder. "Apparently, Sirius Black is seriously thinking about coming to Hogwarts." He quickly glanced back at me. "I trust you. I just... don't trust him."
I closed my eyes. "I can handle myself."
I felt a cold finger nip at my nose. "Oh like I haven't heard that one."
I rolled my eyes at Fred, and he grinned.
"Every once in a while, you remind me of why you're my friend." Fred flew to the other side of George. "Looks like we might have to resistrict her after all George."
"That was almost exactly what I was thinking, Fred."
"What!? You can't restrict me. That's not fair!"
Fred shrugged. "We didn't ask you."
"Perhaps we should Freddie."
"Perhaps we should turn around, Georgie. It is getting dark out."
They stared at each other for a bit and then flew back to Hogwarts. In the meantime, I was silent. I was touched, but angry. They cared, but they were crossing a line. After all, I would never think of restricting them on their night explorations. I would only go to Lupin every full moon, but that was because he needed my help this time around.
It hurt that I couldn't tell George about Lupin, and I could tell it hurt him also. He'd always faintly smiled and look away with drooped head. It almost seemed unfair to not be able to tell the twins. I know Fred gets hurt everytime also. However, he's more aggressive and tries to push me and the secret away, almost like it disgusts him.
We were back in the common room, and Fred put his hand on my shoulder. "Please, Alex. I don't know what it is you do, but we just don--"
"Freddie."
The both of our heads snapped to George.
He sighed. "She hasn't spoken a word to us since and it's late. So either pick something else to talk about with her or go to bed..." His eyes made him look fragile, like he was on the verge of breaking. "Good night." He walked into his room and closed the door.
Fred lowered his head and began to whisper. "Alex."
"What?" I barely managed.
Fred sat me down on the couch and sat on the floor in front of me, holding my hand. "George and I care for you. I don't care what it is you do on some of the nights you don't come with us, but please, if you don't come with us stay here."
"You don't trust me, and what makes it any safer with you?"
Fred sighed. "I do trust you, but sometimes I'm angry. We trust you, but you don't trust us enough to tell us what's going on."
"I do trust you guys. It's just that some things shouldn't be shared."
He frowned. "Alex, we shared everything with you. Even the marauder's map."
"Which you quickly gave to Harry."
"Because he needed it. The point is Alex we want to protect you, and it rips us up when you don't see it our way, or you believe that you can do things on your own when you can't. Sirius has killed people."
I sighed. "Fred... Okay, but if I'm going to tell you guys, I'm going to tell you guys tomorrow."
He smiled faintly.
"HOWEVER."
Fred groaned with a grin. "You've learned too much from us."
I smiled. "You have to promise not to stop me from doing what I do."
Fred nodded. "Of course, princess." He stood up and kissed my forehead.
My eyes widened and I froze.
Fred seemed just as surprised as he backed away with widened eyes. He raked his hair back. "Right. Good night." He smiled and quickly walked to his room.
I sat frozen, unsure if that just happened. Unsure if it was all a dream. I don't remember going to my room, but I do remember sitting up on my bed and then realizing I should sleep.
