"Fucking hell." I ran a hand through my hair glaring at the two men who were busy prodding and poking me with questions about how I knew about werewolves and what was Gabal talking about when he said they'd only given me a break.
I gave a growl of annoyance and grabbed my gun out of my back-pocket and pointed at the infuriating wolves that had caused this whole mess. "I swear the next question i get I will shoot you in the ass!"
It quieted both of them, and then my eyes widened as I remembered what got me into this in the first place. "Speaking of where are my guns mmmm."
Arrow went to answer but Cobalt beat him to sneering at me with a amused smile. "Maybe we sold them."
Her eyes narrowed, "Oh you better be joking about that, they were a gift from a really good friend and just so happen to be my favorites."
Arrow cut in before Cobalt could dig them any deeper, "How about we give your guns back to you as soon as you tell us whats going on. Deal?"
Her glare would have left him nothing but a pile of ash had it been fire. "How about i shoot your asses unconscious again and go find them myself, something tells me you wouldn't let them get very far."
Arrow switched to a new tactic since she was right, "Come on Ash, you know that we can help you with whatever the problem is, think about you kids. Let us help."
She stared at him for a long time, "First of all bringing my kids into it was a low blow," She waited until he nodded because she was right it had been, but he wasn't sorry if it meant she might open up to them a little bit. "Second of all, I'm only going to give you information because it will help you prepare yourselves for what's probably coming down on your heads soon."
Now it was Cobalt's turn to lean forward and nod, letting out a breathe she sat down, "I also want my guns back by the end of the day or we'll have a problem." Without waiting for any more nods she plunged into her story, "You all know are people after you, people who wouldn't hesitate to kill you. Up until about six years ago I worked for them."She saw their eyes widen.
Cobalt let out a snort of disgust, "Your telling me that you used to be hunter, that you used to look down from above on you scope and played God with our lives."
She sneered at him, "Are you telling me that your naive enough to believe that all werewolves have control over their beast." Once again she and he were on their feet glaring at each other.
"Arrow pulled them apart, "Enough us being at each others throats won't help! I'm sure she stopped for a reason Cobalt, we've had run-ins with you people Ash, we've lost good people, children. So we're a both on edge around the subject of hunters."
Ash closed her her eyes, calming herself, "The organization i worked with weren't what you know as hunters." She rubbed a hand across her eyes and let out a sigh, "The truth is that werewolves aren't the only things out there, there are things that would give you nightmares if i were to just whisper their name. It was these things that first caused people to band together and form what you call hunters. In the beginning all hunters saw was the horror, they didn't see the more quieter, better creatures who didn't cause trouble. Werewolves didn't even come into the equation until almost three hundred years after the first hunter."
Gulping down some orange juice she'd grabbed she stared at their rapped faces, "Probably won't surprise you much to know that the first sighting of a werewolf was on a full moon, it had been from what I'm told his first shift, he'd just killed a young boy not even ten yet." She nodded when they both winced first time shifters were very much animals, needing the support of the pack of alpha with them to keep them in control. "That little boy just so happened to be the leader of the hunter's son. From that point on hunter was focused on werewolves and for close to thirty years other creatures were forgotten in the blood lust to kill your kind. However when his two young sons were grown they both saw differently, both of them realized that were other monsters out there, while one of the sons believed that everything not just the werewolves should be caught and killed the other son disagreed. He fell for a werewolf as cliche as that sounds and after a long time he cut of from his father and brother and started his own organization, the company is what I grew up calling it. We gather the facts before playing God as you put it, and never children."
She leaned back and stared of into space, "My entire town was slaughtered by one of the monsters i spent years hunting and killing. Gabal, he found me raised me and taught me the trade. I've seen things you'd never dream about horrors you'd never be able to wrap your head around. However i can assure you that i have never looked down my scope and played God. Every shot has been to save people and to put down a monster." She stared Cobalt down until he glanced away ashamed. "Now I don't think Ripley's mission was to kill you. More than likely he was scout trying to figure out what kind of pack you were, weather of not you had control over your yourselves or whether you were going around turning people. He probably had a previous beef with you and decided to take you out. Before you laugh at that let me warn you that I've watched one or two hunters from either organization take out whole packs without getting a scratch. We know you weakness's it's why we're successful."
I smirked when their brows furrowed in displeasure. "Now where are my babies?"
Little bit of her past for you.
