Travis came back, and now it was my turn. His face was bloody and bruised. Ellery's men came in and grabbed me by my arms. I didn't move, so I let my feet drag across the floor. Screaming didn't help the problem. I looked back and Travis was knocked unconscious.
I wouldn't stop screaming. The guard put his gun to my head. After that, my screaming silenced to tears. The guard led me to a small, box shaped room. Ellery stood at a table. The guards pushed me on to a chair and left. Ellery came up to me and wiped my tears away.
"Where's your hero when you need him?" She whispered quietly to me.
I looked up at her. "What the hell are you talking about?"
Ellery scoffed. "I am talking about your friend." She paused. "Josh. I am talking about him." I felt my heart drop. I let out a shaky sigh. "What? Do you not care about him anymore? Do you still love him? You can answer at any time."
"I – I still love him." I whispered barely audible.
"Um, excuse me. Can you say that a little louder?"
"I. Still. Love. Him." I spat at her.
Ellery backed up. "Aww, you still have feelings for him."
I looked at the ground in shame. Ellery was silent as I heard the clanking of tools on the metal operating table. I was not prepared for what was about to happen next.
I sat in the bedroom looking over something Cassandra has given me. I heard a faint knock at the door.
"Didn't you say you have someone back home?" Lily asked as she walked in.
"Yeah, but she wasn't a part of my colony though." I lied back down on the bed.
"She could possibly taken by the Shadows." Lily said and I looked over at her.
"Wait, why do you mean?"
"What I mean is that she could be taken by them because she is still a part of the Convoys. This means that she is vulnerable. They are going to strip her of her identity and use her as one of their puppets. But only first they put anyone through an unbearable amount of pain."
I sat up. "How do you know all of this?"
Lily was silent. After a while she spoke, "I was there. They captured me within the first year and I witnessed what they do. I managed to escape and find my sister."
"Then we have to get her. Everyone is waiting to kill her."
I stood up but Lily pushed me back down to the bed. "Not in your state. We'll go sometime next week."
I sighed and Lily left. That's going to be killing me. Lily knows where Cassandra is. Those damn monsters better not kill her. If they do, I will kill everyone there . . . even Cassandra.
I could feel sweat falling down my face from the pain. Blood dripped down my hands and made a pool around the chair legs. "So, tell me. Was it true your mommy had some daddy issues? I heard she killed him."
"Don't you ever speak of that again." I spat blood on the floor.
Ellery came and kneeled in front of me. "Did I hit a weak spot? Well, I'm sorry. Actually no I'm not."
I managed to get out of the chair once Ellery turned her back. I jumped on her back and caused her to fall face first into the tiled floor. Her head bounced back and I heard her begin screaming. Guards ran in and tackled me to the floor. A crushing blow to my back caused me to scream in pain. I felt the guards pull me up and they dragged me across the tile floors back towards the door.
"She broke my fucking nose! That bitch just broke my nose!" Ellery cried like a baby.
"You deserved it!" I yelled back.
The guards dragged my back to my room. I tried putting up a fight, but nothing worked. They tossed me back into my room where Travis was finally awake. Blood dripped into my eyes and burned them. I wiped away the blood and the tears that began to fall down my face. Travis came up to me.
"Geez, they got you hard." He stated.
I sighed. "Please don't mention it."
Thoughts of Josh ran through my head. Maybe he isn't going to save me. Maybe he's found someone else. I sat up and backed up to a wall. Travis still sat in the middle of room. It's going to drive me insane. The questions about Josh still remain in my head. There was no way of knowing anything beyond this point. I'll be dead soon anyways. Hopefully Josh could find me before then. And if he doesn't, I don't know what I'll do.
