"Whoops! Sorry! Was I interrupting something?" Lily's voice carried from the door way.
Josh jumped up. "Hmmm? No, we were just sleeping."
I looked over at Lily. "I gotta go run out somewhere. I should be back within a few hours."
"That sounds fine." Josh muttered.
Lily nodded and left. I instantly fell back asleep hoping for no interruptions.
A couple hours passed and I stood in the kitchen area. Josh came up behind me and pulled me close. I felt his gentle kisses on my neck. "We got some time to ourselves."
I turned and faced him. My arms wrapped around his neck. "This may be one of the last times we could ever have some alone time." I whispered.
Josh's lips hovered over mine and he gently kissed them. I kissed him back. He lifted me up and set me on the counter. Josh's thumb caressed my side and I chuckled. He stood between my legs and licked my lower lip. I allowed his entry and our tongues wrestled. My body felt light as I was lifted off the counter.
With his foot, Josh closed the door and he quickly locked it. I was tossed on to the bed and I removed my jacket. Josh's hands ran up and down my sides and our kiss deepened. I lifted up Josh's shirt and tossed it to the floor. My hand ran over his finely defined abs. I needed this so bad.
Gun shots erupted in the distance. I awoke startled. Josh was still sleeping. I crept out of the bed and threw my clothes on. Someone ran inside and closed the door. Lily was holding the door shut.
"What the hell is going on?" I asked.
Lily chuckled. She was completely out of breath. "I think I made some new friends."
I noticed blood in her mouth. She walked over to the bathroom and began spitting it up in the sink.
"Where's Josh?" She asked.
"He's still sleeping."
I rested against the wall. "You should go back to sleep, too. You don't look so good."
"Don't you need sleep? You haven't slept much either."
Lily turned the water on and splashed some on her face. "I'll be fine. Go on."
I nod and headed back to the bedroom. Josh was still sleeping and I crawled in next to him. I soon fell asleep.
"Cass, wake up." Someone was shaking me awake. "Come on."
I groaned and looked around the room. Josh stood above me. I sat up and noticed it was dark outside. "What time is it?" I muttered and Josh helped me up.
"It's around eight at night. Lily has some good news."
Josh left the room and I followed behind him. Lily sat by the fireplace. She began explaining that she found an abandoned warehouse towards downtown. A smile spread across my face. "We might be safe." I chuckled and gave Josh a hug.
"We have to leave. Tonight at one. Pack anything valuable because we're not coming back."
I found my shotgun and slung it over my back. Josh came up next to me. He wrapped his hand around me and pulled me close. "I'm actually going to miss it here." I whispered.
Josh chuckled. "I think I'll miss it here, too. I loved sleeping on an actual bed."
"What about Junior? Do you think he's still alive?"
