Breezestar padded into Foxtail's den. He was supposed to exercise his leg. Foxtail looked at him, then motioned her tail to follow her. "Now, I wanna see you run. It has been awhile since you have actually walked correctly. If it doesn't work, you give up duty as leader." Breezestar looked at her in amazement. He nodded, and began to stalk a squirrel. As she watched, Breezestar ran up into the tree, catching the squirrel with one swipe. He bit into his back hardly. Foxtail purred in satisfaction. "I still need more proof." He raced her to the cliff. Breezestar struggled to keep up, but kept his pace fast. Suddenly, Foxtail stopped. "Watch out!" She called. Breezestar dug his claws into the ground, but he was too late. He was tripped by a long branch and launched the river. He closed his eyes. "So this is what it felt like to Darkpaw, when he died," he whispered to himself. Still falling, his pelt caught on a branch. He gasped for air, but that caused him to call off. Suddenly, Nightshade, the black and white she-cat warrior, appeared next to the river. Breezestar fell head first into the water, injuring his head. He felt someone bite into his scruff, pulling him up. He put all the weight on his paws.
He awoke as a small gap of water spat out of his mouth. He gasped for air, and open his eyes up again. He took a deep breath, not even focusing on the she-cat. "I saved you," she said. "Huh?" Breezestar said, turning his head. "Oh! Thank you!" He got up to his paws, bumping into Nightshade awkwardly. "I better go, get some poppy seeds...and stuff," she said. "Stay here." He fell down as she ran away. Breezestar obeyed her words, taking in air. His pelt ripped, his claws bent, and his leg deeply cut, there was no possible way he can get back to the camp without being treated.
The she soon came back, with a batch of poppy seeds, marigold, and cobwebs. Breezestar chewed the poppy seeds, rubbed himself with the marigold, and pressed the cobwebs to his wounds. (iFrostflare cannot remember the way they use herbs XD) Nightshade awkwardly looked down at him. "You better get back... somehow." He nodded and began to walk forwards the steep hill nearby. He hopped upon the hill, with his tail swaying. Foxtail was three fox-lengths away, looking around, worried. She jumped in surprise as he appeared from behind a bush. "I was worried, and thought you would have more wounds then that..." she said, observing him. His eyes widened, but they soon came to regular size. He had stayed back there for so long, she couldn't expect him to look like a badger that has fallen off a tree and attacked by about the three clans. Foxtail still looked suspicious, and Breezestar said nothing as they padded up to the camp. I hope this soon ends, he thought hopefully. Otherwise there will be consequences.
