Alex jumped to his feet, the lights in the boat died out and the loud noise of the backup generators kicked in. He was overwhelmed with panic, though he did not hesitate,he bolted over to the small dresser and flipped it over to grab the backpack he had snuck into the boat.
He ran to the door that his mom had already gone through to see what the problem was, and when he opened it he was met with a small wave of water that washed past his knees and into the room beyond.he pushed his way through the current and down the hall. It was very dark, and the hall was slowly filling up with water as he slowed more and more as he continued. Soon the water reached his chest and he started to panic. The water stretched up to his neck as he took one last deep breath and dove underwater. He slowly swam down the tunnel, a growing burning feeling in his chest. The only placed he could see were the places that the spinning red siren light shined on. He continued down the hall and soon his head began to ache. He struggled to keep moving as he made his way to an intersection. As soon as he moved out into the new hall, he saw the furniture moving quickly down one hallway, but it was too late, the current grabbed him, forcing him down the hallway. He saw the bars for a staircase up ahead and grabbed them, he pulled his way up the railing until the current died away. He continued to struggle to reach the top, but his body was beginning to ache, and He felt light headed. He slowly started to slip into unconciousness as he reached the top, were it reached out onto the deck.
The boat had shifted, slowly falling into the depths of the ocean. He was climbing the deck of the ship as a large head with a long snout filled with crimson red teeth rose beside the boat. It tilted its head towards him and without hesitation lunged at him. Alex jumped out of the way as the massive head hit the deck with a loud bang. He ran as fast as he could to the front of the ship but a small fire nearby suddenly grew and twisted its flames across the deck, igniting the gassoline that had been spilled. It found its way to the storage in the front and the leaking fumes ignited, causing a mass explosion.
He was launched off the ship, sickening screams and the smell of burning flesh filled the air. He closed his eyes as a wave of pain coursed through his body.
Then, there was silence.
