'I missed you too,' the Doctor replied as they arrived at the now defunct shrine of the old god. 'Come on,' he motioned to Clara ' sit down I need to ask you something important.' Clara came over and just from the tone of his voice she knew this wouldn't be good.

'Anything,' was probably the last thing she should have said.

'That day in the cafe,' it was so long ago to him but just hours for Clara 'would you have lied to me?' Clara is clearly confused by his line of questioning.

'What do you mean,' she asked truthfully.

'Would you have told me about Danny.' Clara's suspicion was right this wasn't good. She thought for a moment but to the Doctor it felt like three eternities.

'Oh, yeah, I tried, but then you said you had found Gallifrey and I didn't want you to worry about me so... I didn't say anything,' Clara hoped she could avoid what she thought he was going to ask. But, the Doctor is way too clever for simple mind games.

'Let me rephrase it. If it were me instead of Captain Grumpy,' the Doctor shifts uncomfortably ' would your answer have been different?' Clara looks up at her sad Doctor.

'You think your face would matter,' she was being as honest as she had been in a while. 'No, even if it was you, chinboy. I still would have wanted you to go to Gallifrey and be with your family instead of me.'

'I just needed to know Clara because that version of me didn't always treat you appropriately,' the Doctor admitted shaking his head.

'What do you mean,' Clara was even more confused at this line of questioning. But, she knew he was about to break down again she could see it in those big sad eyes.

'Admit it Clara I was rude to you! Called you names, I was so confused,' the Doctor continued confessing his wrongs to Clara as his voice heightens and his breathing quickened.

'You mean when you left me on the moon with the egg creature,' Clara remembered while looking at the ground remembering how she felt. She had never felt more alone and she almost made the wrong decision. She almost killed an innocent creature.

'Yes, yes all of that! I thought you could make the decision and I scared you. I didn't respect you,' the Doctor's voice cracked and tears started forming again. Clara is just as overwhelmed as the Doctor.

'You wanted humanity to grow up and this was the chance for us to reach out,' she tried to make the Doctor feel better 'That is not what I felt that day though I have to admit but, I finally understood when I tried to save you when the world turned to a forest.'

'Does that give me the right though? I can't get that out of my head. The one person who saw me! I turned around and hurt you,' he couldn't contain his emotions. Clara is also crying at this point as she stands up and turns to him kneeling in front of him placing her hands on his knees.

'Doctor! Please, just stop,' she pleads 'I understand why you did it. I understand YOU! And trust me Doctor, it won't ever change how I care for you. Ever,' The Doctor quickly stands up.

'I'm sorry, I feel so guilty. We should just get out of here too many memories,' the Doctor threw his hands up in submission but his chin was still trembling. Clara just stares and looks into the Doctor's big sad eyes. She keeps saying almost to herself it's going to be okay as the Doctor stands up. She watches him as he walks head down to the scooter.

'Let's get this back to Doreen,' the Doctor starts to say but heard Clara's muttering 'what's going to be ok?'

'Ok, let's go,' Clara answers ignoring his other question.

'Fine, ignore me then,' the Doctor pouted. He hated when people ignored him especially when Clara did it to avoid confrontation.

'You, you're okay. What you did is okay and I need you to know that, and you need to stop thinking about it,' Clara scolds the Doctor.

'Huh,' the Doctor was confused the gift of his short attention span then he remembers 'Oh, how do I Clara? How do I stop thinking about any of it,' the Doctor furrowed his eyebrows.

'Think about now! What you are doing now and what you want to be doing later. If you don't stop focusing on your personal past, it's going to kill you,' Clara is getting perturbed.

'Maybe it should,' he trails off 'Never mind let's go!' Clara heard what he said and she is furious.

'Don't say that! Don't you dare,' she wanted to slap him until he regenerated.
