The Next Morning...
Jazmine's Pov.
Huey pushes the trolley behind me as I cross items off the list.
Eggs
Chicken
Oreos
Vegetables
Rolls
JamI walk to the meat aisle and pick a bag of pork.
"Jazmine," Huey interjects.
I roll my eyes and put the bag in the trolley anyway.
"Don't worry. It'll be gone by the time I leave," I tell him.
Huey's fridge is emp-ty! I don't see how he managed to keep fit for this long. He told me he doesn't need to eat so much, I disagreed and forced him to come grocery shopping with me.
He might be complaining now but he'll miss me.
"Could you go get the spinach babe?" I ask breaking the tension.
"Don't call me that..." Huey mutters.
"How come you don't like it when I call you that? I like it," I say.
"If you like it so much then how come when we fuck instead you yell-"
"Spinach Huey," I interrupt.
I turn pink from my neck up. What if someone heard that?
Huey smirks at me and walks to another aisle. I sigh and keep moving the trolley. Screw that vegetarian. If he thinks were not buying meat because of him, then he thought wrong.
"Hey Kristin!"
I keep walking.
"Kristin! Wait up!"
When I realise none of the other woman in the aisle are responding to the name, I freeze. Another trolley stops next to mine. Pushing it is Danny Da Costa himself, same blue eyes, same dark her, same wrinkles.
"Danny?" I whisper.
He smiles. "Yeah. You remember me right?"
Maybe if I lie he'll leave me alone. I shake my head. "No, sorry. I think you've got me confused with someone else."
He laughs. "Trust me, I know you. How could I forget a face like that?"
Even though he complimented my face, his eyes are on my figure. I forgot this guy was a perv.
I try to force a stern look. "Listen, sir, I really think-"
"You know..." he interrupts with a grin. "If your planning a movie career let me tell you now that your a sucky actor."
My eyebrows cringe. Movie career?
"Wait! I know!" I holds his index finger up and makes a pointed look. "Your testing your acting on me, aren't you?"
I force a laugh. "Got me there!"
I must've laughed too hard because he gives me a weird look. "Its been so long. How are you? Wanna catch up?"
I force myself not to make an annoyed look. Hes so freakin loud!
"Um...that sounds great, Danny, but..." I think of an excuse.
He nods. "I get it..."
I raise an eyebrow. "You do?"
He lowers his voice. "It might be a little weird for the husband, huh?"
I stare at him? Husband? Wait...oohh! He thinks I'm married! But not to Huey Freeman, to Ethan Blake.
*You'd get this part if you read my last books, if you didn't, sorry, catch up!*
He sighs. "Y'know. I figured that since you still don't have a ring, you'd be single."
I glance down at my left hand grasping the trolley handle. No ring.
"N-No. I mean...were still kinda-""Can I help you?"
I look back and make a relieved sigh. Behind me is my big-haired boyfriend walking towards us holding a bag of spinach in one hand.
Danny holds his hand out as Huey walks closer. "I believe we've met, Mr Blake?"
Huey, stops inches from his hand and raises an eyebrow. He looks at me and I give him a helpless shrug.
Danny pulls his hand away, rejected. "Ah, still don't do handshakes?"
"Ooh. Your the diner boy," Huey says.
Danny makes a painful look. "If that's how you remember me, yes, but people call me Danny," his tone becomes cold.
Huey slips his arm around my waist and pulls me close. "I think that's everything, lets go...Kristin."
Danny, about to say something opens his mouth, but Huey speaks first. "It was good seeing you, Mr..."
"Da Costa."
Huey nods. "Right. Let's go, Kristin."
Danny digs his hand in his pocket and pulls his hand back out, holding a card out to Jazmine. "Just incase you change your mi-"
Huey snatches the card. "She won't," he says firmly.
He stuffs the card into his front pocket and steers me away by my shoulder to the counter. I glance back at Danny who watches me walk away. Damn. I know Dannys a perv who probably wants to rape me, but that's no excuse to be rude.
I'm such a softy.
When we reach the counter, I glare at Huey as he pays for our groceries. "Hu-"
"Shush," he commands.
My eyebrows shoot up and I put my hands on my hips. The cashier gives the both of us a worried glance. When she finishes packing our stuff, I storm out of the store leaving Huey to take the bags.
I walk in the parking lot to the car, fuming. I should apologise to Danny. Maybe I should go out with him? It'll be friendly dinner of course. I get that Hueys jealous, but he should know that-
Interrupting my thoughts, my wrist gets grabbed and I'm yanked back. "Hey!" I land at Huey's chest and try to pull back, but his grip on me is to tight. He drops the bags and uses that hand to grab my other wrist.
"Urgh! Lemme go!"
Huey moves his head next to mine and I feel his lips brush my ear. "Jazmine. If you keep walking away from me, I will literally strip you down out here and fuck you sideways for everyone to see."
I stop struggling and freeze. Huey drops my wrists and picks up the bags. He nods towards the car and I bite my lip. I turn and walk to the car, feeling his eyes on me. I sit down in the car and stare out the window the entire ride.
Huey's Pov.
Jazmine hasn't said a word since we left. For once she was actually quiet the entire drive.
I should use that technique more often.
