Riley's Pov.

We got to the hospital in minutes. They lay C-murph on those trolley hospital thingies and wheeled her into a room. I jog by the nurses side as she pushes. Jazmine, Ming and Caesar are stopped at the door.

"Sorry. Only the father can be in the room."

"When can we come in?" Jazz asks.

"We'll let you know," the nurse answers.

Jazzy gives me a thumbs up and they all go to the waiting seats.

"Riley! Getcho ass ova here!"

Shit.

I jog to Cindy's side and watch the doctors get to work. "Ok, Miss, were gonna need you to push."

My eyebrows shoot up. I give Cindy a worrying look. "Do I really have to be in here fo this?"

She takes my head and squeezes tight. "Please don't leave me. I really need you right now. Right here."

I squeeze her hand back. "I ain't going anywhere bae."

She smiles weakly. "Oh Ril-Eeeeeee!"

She sweats. "GET THIS THING OUT OF ME!"

SHIIIIIIIIIT! I think I should've left.

Jazmine's Pov.

We all sit quietly in the waiting area. Granddad, Caesar, Ming, Huey and me. I stare down at the floor and bite my lip, playing with my fingers. A hand takes mine and I look up.

"She'll be Ok," Huey tells me.

I nod. "Huey...while I was napping I had a dream."

"Ok...and is it not normal that you have dreams?"

"Well...it was an odd dream. You were there and you were...throwing a child in the air," I say.

He raises an eyebrow and I continue.

"He...he called you daddy. Huey, do you think this means something?" I smile.

Huey doesn't answer. He still looks at me, but it feels like he's staring into space. I snap my fingers. "Earth to Huey. Are ya there?"

"Huh?" He shakes his head.

I kiss him. "I know your not...excited about the idea of kids, Huey. We won't rush, Ok? We'll take it slow."

He sighs. "Whew."

I laugh and kiss him again.

The same nurse from earlier walks into the room. "Um...the Freemans?"

We all stand up.

"You can come in now."

Cindy's Pov.

I sit up in bed and close my eyes. I hear crying. My eyes open and I see Riley holding a baby. He gently rocks it back and forth. I smile weakly. He takes his eyes off the baby and looks at me.

"Cindy?"

I blink in response.

"Its a girl, Cindy. Its a girl."

"Lemme see her..." he lowers the baby and I observe a tiny face. A little mulatto. (Well that was predictable)

"She's beautiful," I whisper.

"Just like her momma," Riley says.

The door opens and everyone walks in. Jazmine's the first to walk to us. "Let me see, let me see, let me see!"

She sees the baby and smiles. "Its a girl! Huey look!"

Huey looks over his shoulder and smiles. I never see him smile. "Hii baby girl. Its your Aunty Jazz. Can I hold her?"

Riley lets her carry the baby. She shows Ming and Caesar. "Hey there little nigga," Caesar says softly. "Say hello to Uncle Caes."

"How adorable!" Ming says. "What's her name?"

Me and Riley exchange looks. We didn't think of that.

"I've got one," Riley says. "Lets call her...Janet."

"...I like it," I say. Riley gives me a quick kiss.
