Huey's Pov.

I walk back to the table, to find Caesar gone and Riley looking pissed.

I place the grape smoothie on the table and sit down. "Where's Caesar?"

Riley leans back in his seat and puts his hands behind his head. He sighs. "Nigga ran after sum hoe."

I lean back in my seat and sigh. Its been a while since I've relaxed. I notice how Riley relaxes too. I can tell by his posture that hes been stressed.

"You Ok man?" I ask.

"Huh?" Riley sits up straight. "Yea. I'm aight." He rubs his temple.

I sigh. "What happened? Did you and those two idiots actually kill someone?"

"Wut? Naw man..." Riley glances at the girls. "Just been having issues..."

I follow his gaze and my eyes land on the blonde girl currently having a splash fight with the mullato. "With Cindy?"

"Yea..."

"What happened?" I ask.

Riley bites his lip and forces a smile. "It ain't important."

"C'mon man. I'm your older brother. I know we don't always agree with each other, but-"

"Aight! Don't need you gettin all lovey-dovey on mah ass..." he takes a deep breath. "Well...uh...there was this girl..."

*Riley tells Huey about Anjelika*

"I guess that explains the scar on your cheek," I say.

Riley chuckles and touches the spot where Cindy scratched him when she slapped him. "Yeah...that shit hurt man. Bitch got long nails."

I chuckle, something I never do in front of my brother. "You made the right choice, Riley."

Me and Riley watch the girls. "Yea...I'm glad I did."

Jazmine and Cindy jog back to us. "Bae the waters sooo good!" Cindy says to Riley.

Jazmine frowns. "Where's Caesar?"

"Finding his own fish," I say. "Don't worry. He'll probably meet up with us...somewhere."

"Until then..." Cindy pulls Riley up and pulls his arms around her waist. "Let's go take a dip." She winks at him.

Riley takes her hand and they run off. "We'll meet you guys for lunch!"

Before we respond their already gone.
Jazmine sits on my lap and reaches for the beach bag.

"There three more chairs, Jazmine," I say.

Jazmine pulls out her book. "I know. Don't act like your not enjoying this." She shakes on my member.

In the car she was going to say something before we arrived. Taking the advantage of her being on my lap, I slip my arm around her waist and use my other hand to hold her thigh so she can't stand up.

She grins. "Huey, what're you doing?"

"What were you going to say in the car?" I ask back.

Her mouth opens, about to say something, but closes again. She looks away and blushes. "That's not important."

I put my hand on the side of her face and gently pull her to look back at me. I look into her eyes. "Everything you say to me is important. I want you to be honest with me, I want to know what's on your mind."

Jazmine bites her lip and looks down for a moment, then looks up again. "Well...after hearing that song I wanted to ask you if...um..."

"Jazmine."

"Yourgonnamarrymeright?!" she says quickly.

"What?"

She takes a deep breath. "Huey Freeman. Are you gonna marry me?"
She looks away from me, ashamed or embarrassed. I hope its neither.

I never thought about that. Shit, when I was 17 I didn't even believe I'd ever fall in love. She just has that effect on me. Is she proposing or is she just asking?

"Huey?" Jazmine looks at me with tearful eyes. Shit. I didn't even realise I was quiet for so long.

"Do you want to marry me?" I ask.

She puffs her chest out. "Yes."

"To a terrorist? I've hurt people, Jazmine. I'm wanted," I say.

"I know. And I love that...because...because..."

I raise an eyebrow.

"Because its you," she says finally.

"What?"

"I love all your good qualities and I love all your bad qualities...because they make up you..." she places her hand on my chest, right on my heart.

I touch Jazmine's hand and hold it.

"Huey..."

"Yeah."

"Yeah?" she echoes a little confused.

"Yeah, I'll marry you," I look up at her.

Jazmine smiles. She crushes her lips against mine and soon were making out. I break the kiss.

"Wait. This wasn't a real proposal, was it?" I ask.

"It is if you want it to be," Jazmine responds with a hopeful smile.

Shes just unresistable. Not really sure what I'm agreeing to and hypnotised by her smile, I nod.

"Really?!" Jazmine kisses me again before letting me answer and pulls me into a tight embrace. "Oh Huey! I can't wait!" She pulls away. "Now all we need is a ring!"

What just happend?
