We finally arrived at the party. We had stopped and grabbed some food on the way, so we weren't drinking on empty stomachs. I spotted Chris, standing in the corner with some blonde girl all over him.

Chris' family had money. Which you could clearly tell from the three-story house we were currently standing in. It even had one of those fancy crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. Along with his Jaguar sitting in the driveway. So I wasn't the least bit surprised to see another girl throwing herself at him.

Either way. I didn't care. He was always throwing these end of summer parties, and everyone knew he threw the best ones. I'm pretty sure people from other schools were here. "I'm going to grab a beer, maybe even some shots. Want anything?" Derek asked me. Which I knew in Derek speak meant, "Wanna get wasted?"

"I'm good for now. I'll grab something later." He shrugged and walked off. Eric was still standing next to me. Scoping out the room. Last time we were at Chris' party he had some crazy chick following him around. He swore up-and-down he'd never see her again. It had taken him forever to get rid of her.

"Damn, I barely recognize anyone here. Though I do see someone that might be of interest to you." My eyes followed where he was pointing at. There was a redhead staring at us. I patted him on the back. "Good luck with that." I had zero interest in her. She was all his. "If you insist." He walked away from me. Both boys had taken off without me. Oh well. It happens.

The house was packed. I made my way through the kitchen and decided I would grab that beer. I wasn't planning on getting drunk, to be honest. I was probably going to be the one driving us home. Which was cool with me.

I open the beer in my hand and take a quick drink, before making my way back into the living room. There were a bunch of people dancing in the middle of the room. Everyone was enjoying the last few moments before school started back up.

I couldn't help but laugh at some of them. Acting as if they would never have the chance to party again. We knew that wasn't true, since we knew Chris. He still threw parties every other weekend. But, by all means party it up.

I should probably just get smashed and find someone to spend my time with, but I just didn't feel like doing that right now. As I'm walking to another room. I ran into Andrew, captain of the football team.

"Hey, Ryder, what's up? Having a good time?" Usually. I didn't spend much time around jocks, but Andrew was actually a chill person. Not like his friend Zack, who was standing behind him glaring at me. Fucking prick. "Yeah. I'm having a good time. Just got here."

"We got here a bit ago as well. Where are the two idiots at?" He laughs a little and I laugh with him because those two really are idiots.

"Well, Derek's off getting smashed somewhere and as for Eric... I have no idea. Last I saw, he was with some ginger chick." He laughs, slightly shaking his head as Zack taps on his shoulder.

"Sorry to cut this short Ryder, but I am trying to find my little sister Aria. If you see a girl with Emma that's in a black dress- tell her I am looking for her will ya?" I nod my head. I don't know why it didn't click to me till just now that Andrew's dad died in a car accident. I should have put two and two together that he was her brother. Man, I'm a little dense sometimes.

I watch them walk off as Zack gives me another glare. I can only hope that one day I'll be able to knock him down a few pegs. I ignore the other jock and keep walking around, finally spotting Derek over with some guys. They were playing some drinking games with a few girls.
