Epilogue

"WH-wha!!?" Haruyuki awoke, sitting at his desk, as his alarm sounded right next to his laptop.

He rubbed his eyes for a minute, and looked at his computer screen, expecting Mikoto's voice to speak to him from his laptop.

He did that a lot nowadays, ever since Mikoto had gone back to her time. After all, in this world, that hadn't been too long ago.

"I wish you were there." Haru muttered. "I don't know what happened to you.. and I want to find you.."

All Haru had remembered was after he and Tatsumi had gone to the Underworld with Sinon to help Kirito against Gant.. flames had raged over the place.. and before he and Tatsumi knew it.. they had found themselves back in the Dark Mind..

Unable to find the Eye of Flames.. as it had somehow disappeared, Haru had gathered Chiyu, and the two of them left their avatars sleeping at the Traveler's Pelican before logging out, with a promise by Mine that their avatars would be well taken care of.

Haru bowed his head sadly. And even then, he had been unable to find Green Grandee, to at least gather some clues..

He felt terrible. Each passing moment, he felt Mikoto was getting farther and farther away.

"Oh? Feeling bad about your silly girl? Little rotund boy?" a small mischievous voice from Haru's computer.

Haru nearly fell off his chair. "Wh-what!? Mikoto!?"

"Don't be silly you rotund little silly human.." said the voice. "I'm not your girl.. how cute that you'd think so though.. heeheeheehee.."

"Wh-who are you?" Haru asked.

"Does it really matter?" The voice yawned lazily. Her voice seemed to bear a mischievous darkness to it.. as if she were some little imp.. prowling in the darkness of Haru's room. "Honestly you humans are so scared when just the slightest weird thing goes wrong in your world.. hard to believe that I want to gain a human body of my own.. being a mere virtual program.. it bores me.."

"It matters to me." said Haru. "I still don't even know why you're in my computer.. or how you know about Misaka.."

"Heeheeheeheehee.." the voice laughed. "Well then.. we can use my designated program name then.. call me Midna.. "

"Midna?" Haru's eyes shifted around. "That sounds like.."

"Something from a game that's recently come into the market?" said Midna. "Not important.. don't think on it too much.. little rotund boy.."

"S-stop calling me that!" Haru said.

"Oh? would you prefer little pig.. little crow... little Burst Linker?"

Haru thought he could feel Midna smiling as she hit the word 'Burst Linker'. Just who was she!? What was she!?

"Now.. since I have your attention." said Midna. "I have a little something for you.."

A large news article appeared on in Haru's vision through his Neuro Linker..

"This is something about scientists discovering some weird ice mass in the Pacific Ocean years ago!" said Haru. "What's this got to do with anything?"

"The lab.. where the mass was taken.. read where it is.."

"Academy.. City?" said Haru. "Midna.. I don't understand.."

"Go to your regular Internet Café spot tomorrow.. and Dive In to the server.." said Midna. "I'll be waiting.. little Rotund Boy.. heeheeheehee.."

And with that.. Midna's presence disappeared from Haru's laptop..
