For the next few weeks the relationships in the pack have been strained, mostly due to the Alpha. He blames this all on the shadows and me, still not past the hate problem. He has only put more distance from himself and Macy. I have noticed how John's guards won't allow her to get close to him, he has ordered them to see her as a threat. This needed to end, because he has our entire family under surveillance as if we were a threat. I felt my stomach roll with the anger I was feeling towards him, he was ostracizing his family for one act, one wrong thing said. It was midnight and I was standing outside his house with my own guards. They weren't the ones he issued, those wolves were knocked out, but they were my only trusted guards. I wasn't a shadow yet, I wanted them to scent me. I wanted him to know how close I was to him despite what he has done.

"Marcy we should leave or go in. The wolves won't like us being here or this close." I looked to the head of my guard, Hamlan.

"Hamlan you worry too much. They can't kill either of us, don't be so worried."

"No, but he can kill your family. He has been spreading word that your family supports us to this pack and the other packs nearby. Do you wish for me to contact Maxwell to aid us if necessary my lady?"

"I've told you before, just because the rulers of your world are my parents, I'm not royalty. And yes, but only when I tell you. Now boys I see he has spotted me, let's move." I looked to where John was standing, waved and shifted into my shadow state. I knew my eyes were glowing, letting him see me as a shadow and then they went dark.

"You know he will have guards everywhere now. And he will have every light on in the place trying to lessen our hiding areas." I smirked, winking at my men.

"All he is doing is making it easier for us to get to him. Tell me, what comes of light?"

"Darkness, my lady."

"Correct Hamlan. And do you now know my plan?" All he did was nod, smiling to himself. "No one hurts the alpha or his guards. We are not here to harm but to have a nice chat with the alpha." All my men nodded to me, disappointment shinning in their eyes. They wanted to hurt him as he had hurt me and my family.

I walked into his house with relative ease, and saw every light turned on as I had predicted. The house was created to seem romantically or mysteriously dark however and made I easy for us to walk through the house. All his guards were posted in his house and centered towards his room. The hall was a bit difficult to walk through as a shadow, mainly due to there being extra lamps set up to make the hall brighter. This only allowed for me to take my corporeal form and address the guards. Hamlan did not like that part at all. I ran up to one looking frantic, I had changed my look slightly so they wouldn't recognize me.

"Sir! There are rogues attacking the pack! You have to help the pack fight! Please my daddy just told me to come here and seek help. The other guards have left but there were only 6 of them." I forced myself to cry and look distressed.

"young lady, where did you come from?"

My mother is a cook here, my father is another guard. You have to help them!" I saw the inner battle between staying here and protecting the pack in his eyes. Finally he started shouting orders for some of the men to go check out the problem. "Miss, I'm going to need you to tell the Alpha exactly what you've told me, ok?" I just nodded my head shyly and sniffled for affect. He knocked on the door to John's room a bit urgently. There was a moment before John answered.

"What do you need?"

"Alpha we have a young girl who is telling of an attack. Should I allow her in to tell you?" I heard some locks moving and held up a thumbs up behind y back for the others to follow me in.

"Come in sweet child. Where are your parents?" He ushered me in ordering the guard to stay outside the door.

"My daddy went off to fight and my mommy is recovering from a betrayal from her brother." By the end I had shifted back into my normal self and spoke in my voice. I heard a thunk from outside and knew the guards were knocked out.

"There is no attack is there?"

"My dearest Alpha, you would have been alerted way before I came running. Your patrols are currently chasing a shadow. Your guards are having their first good sleep since you turned the pack against my family, your own sister. How do you live with yourself, turning everyone against the only family you have left. The only person you have ever cared about, and you turned on them like a rouge does."

"You understand nothing, all those things you call people are monsters. They kill without thought, they turn mates against one another. They have no care for our world."

"You know nothing of my people then. They do not kill in cold blood, unlike your rouges and you. Don't think I have forgotten about you killing off hundreds of shadow children that haven't even had the chance to live a life. You tried finding me once, you almost got me too. But my adoptive parents then protected me, hid me from you. I am not here to hurt you, I am here to make you understand what you have done to your own sister."

"They killed our parents!"

"Those were rouges, just like every species has. To condemn a whole species because of a few is childish. How many rouges does your world have wolf? How many do they kill a year? And how many other species condemns your entire race because of those rogues?"

"You will not disrespect me!" I knew I was pushing it, but it's not like I couldn't just take shadow form to escape him.

"Tell me John, why won't I? I'm not a wolf, I'm not technically a part of your pack."

"Marcella, we need to e leaving. He is not seeing reason and your family is under attack." Hamlan came into the room in his solid form. I looked a John in disbelief.

"You ordered an attack on our sister. Your very own flesh and blood. You are trying to kill her? For what reason? To prove to me who the real monster is here? To become your father?!" I was seeing red at this point and didn't care that I had viciously opened a still healing wound. I saw his flinch, saw the regret in his eyes, but that didn't matter to me. I teleported to the house to see Macy and my family surrounded. I saw the shifting shadows trying to get to them. I saw a wolf dive for Macy and threw myself into it's path. I called out to Hamlan telling him get Maxwell here to help us. I knew they were the closets people to us for help. I felt desperate at that moment, I knew this would happen eventually.

Focusing on the task at hand, watching the wolf circling me, crouched slightly, ready to pounce. I saw the twitch of his hind legs and watched as he launched himself at me. I crouched down at the last moment, when he was directly over me, I sprung up and pushed with my weight into his stomach. The wolf flew a couple of feet away from me, landing with a hard thud. I felt another wolf coming from behind me, trying to sneak up on me. I switched to my shadow form, allowing the wolf to pass through my form. I compelled him to sleep until the fight was over, a gift that all shadows have is compulsion. I wondered if Derek would help me, even though I still felt the hurt over the attack, we could use him.

"Hamlan, get all your men surrounding my family and keeping them safe. Knock out the wolves you can and restrain those you can't. The entire pack is coming for them. I'm going to contact some of my allies. Keep them safe for me, I'll be back." He nodded and shouted orders over the links, I saw the circle forming around my parents and brother as well as my mate. With that thought I focused on Derek, his smell, what he looked like, the feel of his soul. It was harder to teleport to a person than a place for several reasons. One is you have to link to their soul, with them being willing to let you.
