A few days later Mr Edison dismissed Nikola's ideas as fanciful and completely absolutely not necessary. People already had electricity and in fact as we discovered he and Mr JP Morgan were making huge amounts of money and saw no reason to change anything.
Mr Edison saw Nikola's invention as a threat rather than to advance science and technology.
He didn't praise Nikola, rather degraded him.
Perhaps Mr Edison felt the way to control Nikola was to hire him.
I felt that Mr Edison understood that Nikola's ideas were better and he saw Nikola's genius but why change something that works and brings money? Lots of money.
Thus began what I called the struggle of the century between my good hearted generous husband and those powerful men around him.
