Piper POV
My mouth hung open, and my heart raced a mile an hour. Marriage
"Y-YES!!" I squealed and jumped into his arms, knocking him over. I kissed him passionately, saying yes over and over again.
"I wanted to do it by this tree. Because this tree is where I first realized you where the one" He said. I picked one of the orange leaves off the tree
"My tree. Our tree" I said. He smiled and slipped the small ring in my finger.
"Oh Percy. I never saw this coming. Well- I mean, I knew I loved you-"
"And I love you. And I always will. I was planning this from our first kiss" I laughed.
"Do you still want to go to that party? Cause I don't" He said, pulling me close to him, his arms on my waist.
"No, not really" I said.
"I've been thinking. If I can get someone- Maybe Jason and Hazel, then I can go with you" He said. I smiled.
"How about I stay?" His smile grew even wider
"Really?!?!"
"Yes. This is our home. Our life. Our tree"
"Us. Our. I love you" He said, kissing my forehead. I snuggled up close to him.
"C'mon, I'll walk you back to your cabin" He said, taking my hand. Everything was perfect. I kept my eye out for monsters. Or even worse.. Desperate girls.
"No one will ever take you away from me. Are we clear?" I told him in my serious voice. He looked into my eyes. Even in the dark, I could tell they were a vibrant green.
"I wouldn't even dream of having anyone next to me except you" He said.
"My Darling girl" Said a harmonic voice. The smell of flowers filled my nostrils.
"Mom"
"Dad!"
"Percy!"
"Piper"
"Poseidon"
"Aphrodite" I sighed.
"What are you doing here?"
"I don't want to be here. I think you two are a locket couple" My mom said, flipping her now auburn hair. Poseidon scoffed
"Annabeth Chase is back. You now have your life back" Percy's dad said. And then out of nowhere, the blonde daughter of Athena came, ready to take my kelp face.
"Hi Percy" She said. Her blonde hair was longer, and she looked like a Greek princess
"Annabeth.." Percy whispered. I took his hand, and expected him to look back at me. But his eyes stated in Annabeth. My heart was jumping around everywhere. I let go of his hand, and wiped my sweaty palm on my jeans.
"Annabeth!" I playfully yelled. I might me uncomfortable right now, but she is my best friend. I ran up to her and squeezed her.
"It's so good to see you in person."
"What?"
"I can see you. And everyone else in the underworld. I was a ghost for a time" She said. I bit my lip.
"The sun is coming up. You two should rest. Annabeth, go to Chiron" My mom said. I hugged Annabeth again, before backing away. She and Percy awkwardly greeted each other, then she walks towards the big house.
"Wow" I said once we were alone. He stayed silent.
"Percy?"
"Hmm"
"Are you happy? That Annie-" He stared at me.
"Why wouldn't I be?" I heaved a breath, and silently prayed my tears would stay in my eyes. Does he still love her? Was I only a replacement he had grown fond of?
"I-I'm going to bed. Are you going to see me off?"
"What? Why?"
"I'm leaving tomorrow. I've said it before" Percy frowned.
"Of course" He said, and lightly pecked me on the cheek.
On the way back to my cabin, I took everything in. The trees, the smell, the sunrise. Who knows if I will come back? And if it will be the same if I do.
"PIPERRRRRR!" Leo yelled, tackling me. I whipped out my dagger.
"Don't. Do. That. I would've put my dagger in your gut" I said, putting it away. He held up his hands and scooted away
"Did you hear?" I slowly nodded. Word gets around fast. I for sure thought that Chiron would've liked to keep it a secret for long.
"Oh! I have something to say" Leo sat down, crisscrossed. I did to.
"Me and Percy are engaged- BUT! As you know, I'm leaving camp tomorrow. Well, more like today. And I don't know. Should I break it off? Should I make him wait? Tell me what to do Leo!" I cried. He hugged me.
"Aw geez Beauty Queen. Your in a pickle" I chuckled.
"All I can say is- I think you should call it off. You can't expect him to wait for you" But that's the thing. I sorta did expect him to wait for me. I sighed.
"Okay. Thanks Leo" He smiled
"Ok, now I need you're help. Calypso- I can't find her! Piper, what do I do? I made a oath that I would come back, and I-" A small girl tapped him on the shoulder.
"Hi Leooo" She said, dragging out the o.
"Hi Macy"
"Hi Piper"
"Hi Ma- How do you know my name?"
"We went to elementary school together. And I'm sorry for bullying you" She said. I don't recall getting bullied. Hmmm.
"Well, bye Leo. We can talk tomorrow about Calypso" I said, standing up. Macy eyed Leo.
Percy POV
"Percy.. What's going on?" Annabeth asked. We were sitting on a bench, and all I wanted to do was go to my cabin and sleep. I didn't want questions. And Annabeth coming back is really confusing.
"Nothing. And- Why are you back?" She frowned.
"You don't want me here?" I flushed.
"No! I mean- yes, I want you here. I-" She pressed her lips against mine. But, they felt weird. And- they felt odd. They were cold, and felt different than Piper's. Piper. My Fiancé.
"Annabeth!" I held her by the shoulders.
"What?"
"Piper. Me-"
"I know your dating. But- after everything we've been through, don't you feel something?"
"We're not dating" I could hear her let out a relived sigh.
"We're engaged" She stopped moving. And breathing. All you could hear was the sounds of nature. A small tear rolled down her face.
"Okay. J-Just take care of her. I-If you hurt her-" I smiled.
"Thanks. Piper has a really good friend" I got up.
"And Percy- where's Jason? And Leo? And Hazel? And Frank? Don't they know I'm back?" I scrunched my brows toghether.
"Why would they know?"
"Athena said she would tell you guys. Obviously she didn't. It's fine" She slowly got up. I could tell she was still hurt, and I filled with grief. And guilt.
"Annabeth- I'm sorry. If you came back for me-"
"I did. For you. But it's fine. I got to see Piper. That was awkward. But tell her I'll be no threat" Her blonde hair moved around her perfect face with the wind. It looked the same as the day she died. Just cleaner.
"How did you come back?"
"Aphrodite had pity on me. And Zues couldn't bear to have Piper date you. So they, Posiden. Aphrodite, Athena and Zues all got together and pulled me from Elesyum"
"Did you see Zöe? And Charlie? And Selena?"
"I saw Zöe and Luke. That's it"
"Why did Zues hate Piper dating me?"
"Y-You were happy" A broken smile formed on her face.
"Your tired aren't you? I'll walk you back to your cabin" She shook her head.
"I'm fine. I need to talk to Chiron. See you at breakfast?"
"Yeah. Of course"
Little did I know, that was the very last time I would ever have a peaceful night
