CANDACE MILLER

The driver pulled up in front of a HUGE high school. We got out and took all of our bags with us, confused as to why we couldn't stop at the house earlier.

The sign on one of the high school buildings read 'Home of the San Clemente Spartans!' Hmm, San Clemente. The name sounded so familiar but I brushed it off, assuming that mom just told us what town we were going to.

"Woah" Amber exclaimed as we saw class being let out. Over 3000 high schoolers came barreling from all different buildings.

Our high school had like 200 people all together. This school is GIGANTIC.

"Ugh, I hate PEOPLE!" I sighed as we looked at them all, wondering when they would be done switching classes.

The shrill sound of a bell rang through our ears again and quickly all the students vanished.

We went to the front office (which took about 20 minutes to find) and were politely giving visitor passes and pointed to the room we needed to go to.

"Here it is, 810" Amber said, and we both just stood in front of it, both of us to nervous to open it.

"On the count of three?" She nodded.

"One"

"Two"

"Three" We pulled open the door to see a small class busy working or talking, most of their backs to us.

"Uncle Randy!" We both exclaimed as we hugged our uncle. He was 6'5'' and had huge reading glasses.

"Girls! My how have you grown! Okay, I am teaching my Honors Chemistry class right now, but they are all just working together"

"How old are they all?" Amber asked.

"Sophomores and Juniors so between 15 and 17" Hey, Kat is a Sophomore.

"So you guys want to sit alone or talk to some of them? It's their lab day, so they are in here for two periods instead of one" Uncle Randy said and we said we wanted to talk to them.

"Ahem, attention class!" That got most of their heads to turn around.

"I have my nieces here from Oklahoma with me for the Summer- Cat, Molly, Katie!" He cut himself short to yell at three girls who weren't listening to him.

I dropped my phone to the floor when she whipped her head around to apologize, she stared at me wide-eyed.

That's why I knew the name San Clemente.

Because it is where my best friend lives, and she is in my Uncle's Honors Chemistry class, staring at me.
