What just happened? One moment I was shopping with Andrea and the next I did the most courageous thing I ever had in this relationship.

I left her for Katie.

Although it was only to have a crappy mall lunch with her and Candace, I still was proud that I actually stood up to Andrea.

It was something about her, as if I was drawn to her personality. I think about that Texas Summer night all the time. If things hadn't gone the way they did maybe it would be Katie I was driving home right now.

I just hope she still is that girl she was a year ago. The girl I told was beautiful on a cold summer night while my jacket was draped on her shoulders and the wind blew her hair everywhere.

The girl I would have kissed if JC's shit carpentry didn't send the gazebo falling down on top of the both of us, causing me to break my arm protecting her.

I would give anything to have that night back, to step out of that gazebo just a second earlier.

"Baaabe" Andrea took my hand in hers. "You aren't listening and you're gripping the steering wheel so tight I'm afraid your hands might fall off" I chuckled and apologized, taking my eyes off the road for a second to look at her.

I already had this amazing girl, who loved me deeply, so why do I feel like she's not the one?

"I was talking about how I wanted to apologize for today. I know you hate shopping. I also know you don't particularly like Maria so thanks for that" I knew quite well that everyone thought Andrea was using me, but they were all wrong. She was just a tad pushy is all.

"It's fine babe" I leaned over to quickly kiss her cheek while keeping my eyes on the road.

"I can't believe I drive you to willingly hang out with Katie. That girl is a serious plague to society" she snickered at her own snide comment while I kept my eyes on the road, anger instantaneously boiling inside me.

"You don't have to be so mean to her ya know"

"Yes I do, she deserves it. I don't know what she did but something about her that makes me want to vomit" she shudders and I slam the breaks as we get to our apartment building, causing the both of us to fly back into our seats.

"We're you trying to get us killed, because it sure seemed like it!" She screamed, getting out of the car and slamming the door.

"Hey, listen to me! You're not allowed to talk about Katie, or anyone for that matter, like that" I said as I yanked her arm and turned her around to face me.

"You honestly don't see it, do you? The girl has had a secret agenda this whole time!" She yelled flailing her arms in the air.

"What do you mean by 'secret agenda'?"

"God Kian, sometimes you are so damn oblivious! Katie likes you! She has wanted me out of the picture since the beginning, she has even convinced all your friends I'm a bitch when I'm completely not!" She steps towards me as realization dawns upon me.

I side-step and walk into the building, thoughts swarming my head as I go to lay down on my bed and just stare at the ceiling.

Maybe Katie coming back into my life would be better than I expected.
