CANDACE MILLER
"Last day of school Candy Cakes" Amber buzzed with excitement as she walked with me to my locker.
"I know. I can feel it, this summer is going to be different" I stated as I plopped all of my text books from my morning classes into my allotted small blue container. It seems that as the days to summer dwindled down, my books got increasingly heavier.
"I keep on having these butterflies in the pit of my stomach, like this is the summer that everything changes. That this summer will somehow get me out of boring old Sapulpa and give me some real adventure" Amber stated, reading my mind. I just smiled and nodded as we walked to our next classes, unable to concentrate as summer crept closer.
I unlocked the front door and Amber and I barreled into our house. See, we're sisters. I am 18 and Amber is 15, so were extremely close.
"Candace, mom left a note for us on the counter" Amber shouted from the kitchen.
I walked over to have her shove the note in my face as she did her traditional 'happy dance'.
"What is it?"
"Read it!!" She exclaimed as she skipped around the house.
Candace and Amber-
I have overheard you two talking about how you want to this Summer to 'change everything' or some crap like that. So, I am giving that to you. This summer you're staying with your Uncle Randy in California! Oh and one more thing, school doesn't get out until a week after yours so you will have to meet him at his high school when you get there in two days. Trust me, you will be happy I set it up like this.
I love you guys. I will be on a business trip, so your tickets are here and don't miss your flight in 2 days.
I have a feeling this is going to be the summer that changes everything.

Where my best friend lives?
I bubbled with excitement at the fact that I would probably meet her this summer.
