When the wave hit, my arm was around Daniel holding him as tight as I could but my tightest was not enough to hold on to Daniel. After he slipped out of my hand I enediamtly swam to the surface of the water and grabbed a palm tree until the power of the wave had calm down enough to stand up, I look around and on a tree close to me was Daniel holding on for dear life. “DAD, where areyou?” Daniel was shouting. He didn’t see me at that time so I ran over to him and said “Daniel I’m here.” He looks at me and said “Where’s Mum and Alex and Maddy?” I didn’t say anything because I didn’t know where there were, or if there were even alive. “I don’t know but we will find them, ok Daniel?” I said. He nodded back. We started to walk back to the ruins of the hotel.
We were in the hotel with many other survivors like us. Many had cuts and wounds like me. After a little while of searching the hotel for Cecelia, Maddy and Alex, me and Daniel were on the top floor looking out of the window another wave seemed to be coming in. I remember thinking what if Cecelia was there the first wave might not have killed them but this one might. That wave did kill something and that was some of my hope of finding the rest alive. I sat down and thought ‘What if their already dead? If not, where are they, what are they doing? Maybe there looking for us. Will I ever see them again? At the pool, was that the last time I would see them? I stood up and I said to myself No, I will see them again, even if it is their dead bodies.
