"What happened?" I heard Kyla exclaim. "Are you alright? How did that happen?"

Sitting up groggily with squinting eyes, I saw Kyla standing above my bed.

"Seth happened," I murmured, reaching for my phone to check the time.

"What did he do now?" she asked, sighing and sitting on my bed.

So I began telling Kyla about my eventful day leaving out the irritation with Carla because I didn't want her input on this particular situation. Much to my annoyance, she had an amused expression on her face while she was listening to me.

"Seth is quite charming," she commented, pulling her towel out from her handbag. "Are you in pain?"

"Well, I've sleeping so I don't know," I said and slowly tried to move my foot, wincing. Yep, I am in pain. Kyla came towards me and helped me sit up. I groaned and let my head hit the pillow. "This is so unfair! Seth Riley cannot just stroll into my life and ruin my last trip with my best friends and he most definitely cannot have the upper hand in a prank war against us. As for his dumb ex, why did we even try being nice to her in the first place?"

Kyla stared at me for a moment because of my sudden outburst, contemplating what to say next. Eventually, she said, "Calm down. I have some painkillers and a spray. You'll feel better in no time."

I nodded, resting my foot on the floor. Okay, I wasn't going to let some messed up couple ruin my trip. She came back with the tablet and a can of spray. Handing me the tablet, she sat down and slowly lifted my foot into her lap as I sat there trying to not show pain.

What kind of sprain hurts this much? Did that idiot fracture my foot instead?

As Kyla gently unwrapped the bandage wrap, I grabbed my bottle of water from the floor and swallowed the pill.

"What did I miss today?" I inquired as she sprayed something cold on my sore ankle.

She shrugged and said, "Not much. Ignoring the fact that Derrick may have helped Seth with the prank on us, I decided to just spend a good day with him, which it was. Kian, though, was such a third wheel."

I chuckled causing Kyla to relax a bit. She was probably on edge on what to say with my sudden outburst. Sighing inwardly, I waited till she finished wrapping my bandage wrap.

"You want to get some dinner?" she asked, standing up. "Everyone's already there."

"Yes but first," I responded, glancing up at her. "I have something in mind to get back at the boys."

A slow smirk appeared on Kyla's face and she eagerly sat on my bed, waiting for me to continue. So I did. After I finished, she sat in front of me with a proud smile on her face. "I have raised you well, my child."

I grinned at her in response. "We need the material for the prank, though and I don't know where to get that from."

"Leave that to me," she said, winking in a playful manner. "You do realise we're going to have to repeat all of this to Carla right? We should've just waited for her."

"No," I replied a bit too quickly. "No, we're not involving her in this."

"What, why?" she questioned, her eyebrows pulling in in confusion.

"Because I happen to dislike her," I explained in a tone that signalled that she shouldn't push this.

She opened her mouth in protest but decided against it and slumped instead; smart decision. After I pulled a pair of shorts on, we left the trailer for dinner. I seemed to be getting better at walking or rather, limping. The pain had definitely reduced compared to this morning.
