-Rapunzel-
"RAPUNZEL, LUNA GET DOWN HERE!" shouted Gothel (our mother). I picked up my silk light blue skirt off the floor and gracefully walked to the door and began walking down the stairs. My twin Luna sighed heavily and trudged behind me down the long stone staircase. I wrinkled my nose in distaste as i glanced behind me and seen her skirt brush up against some vines and get snagged. I kept walking despite her stopping behind me to untangle the thread of her skirt from the thorn. As my foot landed on the last stair, Mother Gothel walked over and spoke, " We must practice your dancing, because it is one of the most important factors of a young lady." I heard footsteps racing down the stairs and my thoughts came to life when i seen my twin racing down the stairs, her feather brown hair streaming out behind her, her dark brown eyes lit up in joy, and her skirts like giant sails. Mother sighed wearily at the sight and murmured, "I wish it had just been Rapunzel that had been born." Luna skidded to a stop next to me and declared, "I'm here!!" Gothel sighed again and said, "Wonderful.." Luna grinned at me and I returned it.
I do not like dancing. I hate it. I do not hate much but this I hate. I have two left feet but if I complain about it Mother Gothel won't let me have chocolate cake tonight for my birthday even. Luna however was in her element somewhat, she prefered dancing what she called beat dancing. However this was ballroom dancing and twice as difficult then that. Luna glided across the floor oblivious to my failure at dancing. As she twirled around she noticed my futile attempts and forgot all about the dance she was doing and raced over to help me. "K, now point your toe when you bow. Dont forget to keep your arms gracefully out, and last of all keep your head bent towards the ground." instructed my twin.
By the time Gothel came back to see how we were doing I was dancing as well as Luna. She smiled and said, "Very good Rapunzel, it's time for your birthday feast now." She entirely forgot Luna, but Luna seemed indifferent and just followed behind me doing a cross between hopscotch or jumping up and down while walking. Gothel sat down at the head of the table in the velvet chair when we reached the kitchen in this humongous tower. I sat down to her right in a chair with light blue cushions with gems encrusted on the headboard. Luna sat at a wooden chair with red cushions and no gems. I loved everything mother Gothel gives me but she doesn't do anything for Luna, its like shes the forgotten twin and im the one that recieves everything.
"Pass the turkey to your sister Luna." "Yes mother gothel." The turkey platter was passed to me with a flair from Luna. After we ate the turkey, Gothel clapped her hands twice and the maid came scurrying over with the platter of vegetables. I glanced up to see Luna hiding the brussel sprouts under a piece of lettuce slyly. Sadly, Gothel noticed as well. "Why aren't you eating your vegetables?" she questioned. "Because i dont like them?" answered Luna. "Fine starve." was Gothels kind reply. Luna grinned happily and only ate the broccoli, tomatoes, lettuce, and cauliflower. I had to eat all of my vegetables or else the maid would be sent to get something i would like, and Luna would be required to help her. Finally the chocolate cake was served! My favorite part of the meal. I took the biggest slice possible, and Gothel took the medium slice leaving Luna with the slice of very small chocolate cake. I glanced at my cake and back to Lunas. Luna just sighed and devoured her cake quickly and quitely. I shrugged, I guess she liked the small piece. Luna spoke up, "I'm going to go up to bed now, night, bite the bedbugs back." I nodded and smiled a huge smile, "You too!" Gothel shook her head in disgust at Luna and ignored the proceedings.
As soon as I finished my cake i went upstairs and changed into my blue night gown and was combing my very long black hair, when i looked out the window to see the moon shining over head with the North star next to it. Mother Gothel once told me that the moon was me and the North Star was Luna. I sighed wondering if i'd ever get out of this tower, I want a prince charming like in the fairy tales Luna used to read me when i was sick. Oh well, I put the hairbrush down and tiptoed over to my dark blue bed so I wouldn't wake Luna. In the moonlight you could see her hair was sticking out at odd angles and she was softly snoring. I shook my head amused and pulled the cover over on my bed and slipped under it and fell asleep.
