Rapunzels Twin - The true story

Chapter 5

-- Luna's Pov --

I slowly opened my eyes to see my rescuer. He was fairly tall with a strong build and reddish copper hair and deep brown eyes. He was pretty cute and here I was in his arms against his chest, which I might add had no shirt on. My cheeks turned bright red and I thanked him, "Thank you for catching me and yes I'm escaping - I'm only telling you this because you dont seem like the staff which usually are fully dressed...." He flashed me what I'm guessing was his trademark smile considering it lit up his face, "And I am here to rescue you and your twin." I muttered, "I doubt she wants to leave, and to answer your question yes I'm one of Gothels daughters but not her 'prized' one." He nodded, "I thought so because you were escaping and Rapunzel isnt." I nodded and began hearing rapid footsteps and screams from the chef coming from the fridge. "Your handiwork I'm guessing?" I grinned sheepishly, "Well he walked into the freezer what else could I do?" He chuckled a deep resounding laugh and I grinned. "You know my name so what's your name?" I asked. He stopped laughing long enough to cough out, "Brant." I nodded - it suited him. The footsteps were coming closer my eyes widened at the thought of Gothel finding me and her punishment. I leapt behind a fruit rack just as my sister peered over the edge and whispered, "Luna, I know your escaping from Gothel! She's coming - and I want to come along on the adventure!" I nodded and whispered back, "Ok, drop down but stick your feet out before you land so you dont fall." She nodded and dropped down easily. Brant took out his sword and murmured, "I'll just cut this down so we can sneak away and whoever follows us just breaks their necks." I nodded as he cut the rope and walked over to what I'm guessing is a door but how do we leave? Brant had backed up and was studying it suddenly he walked over to a rack of vegetables and pushed it over. The rack toppled to the ground but I didnt even notice the sound as I stared at the engravings Luna, Rapunzel both of our names written to the side of a moon and a sun. I pressed Luna and then the moon as Rapunzel stepped up and touched her name and then the sun at the exact same time.

The etching of the moon seemed to come to life and come off the wall swirling around me rapidly until coming to my hand and disappearing all together. I looked over at my sister who had experienced the same thing. I turned my hand over to show a moon tattoo on my hand. Huh.. Brant was staring at us both and looked up," Wheres my glowing tattoo, huh?" He shook his head and motioned us out the door which was now fully opened. I ran out tugging Rapunzel along with Brant right behind me. He brushed past us leading the way down the corridor running ahead with us following as fast as possible. He shoved open a door and it almost came off its hinges. I continued running pulling Rapunzel who was staring at her hand repeating," Cool a glowing tattoo thing!" I rolled my eyes and stopped when we ran out of the door looking at Brant to guide us the rest of the way. He beckoned us through a bush and held it apart so the branches wouldnt tear our clothes. I followed - still dragging Rapunzel.

As soon as we got through the bush I gaped around with amazement, a beautiful little village - the one I see out the tower window! I'm finally here!!!!! I dropped Rapunzels hand and raced around shouting, "I'M FREE!!!" A hand closed over my mouth as I was pulled towards an alley. Brant murmured in my ear, "You wont be free for long if you keep alerting the villagers." I nodded as he released his hand from around my mouth and jerked his head towards the back of the alley. Rapunzel and I followed to him to the back of the ally to a trellis which went to the top of the alley wall. Not surprisingly he began climbing up the trellis like a monkey and crouched at the top motioning for me to come next. I heard noises coming from the square we were just in. I shoved Rapunzel over to the trellis and pushed her up it. Brant reached down and grabbed her hands pulling her up to the ledge. A bunch of villagers entered the alley and were running towards me. I prayed to God to deliver me from this trap from hell.

I jumped up onto the trellis and was almost there when I started to slip as my sandal fell off my foot. I started to scream but Brant dove down with one hand on the top of the trellis as he grabbed me with his other hand. He pulled me up onto the ledge just as the villagers ran to the foot of the trellis.

I glanced at him and back down. He shook his head and walked carefully along the ledge to the top of the neighboring building. I motioned Rapunzel to go first, I may have slipped due to my sandal but other then that I was the physically fit twin. She swayed slightly as she reached the end but she steadied herself as I followed behind. Brant then led us on a merry 'leap over to the next building' chase. Rapunzel fell once but I grabbed her before she fell completely and I lost my other sandal.

Finally we reached the last building and Brant crouched down. Rapunzel asked rather loudly, "Why did you bring us all the way over here and now your just sitting there?" She panted and collapsed on het knees. After she caught her breath she shot back up and brushed her skirts muttering non-sensible things. I sat down with my feet dangling over the edge and asked him,"What now?" He raised his hand and made a bird call of some kind.

A bunch of men slipped out from behind the trees and a few women followed. Brant grinned at their appearance but frowned as a huge beefy looking guy came out and Rapunzel moved a little closer to Brant. I couldnt really blame her - I kinda wanted to hide too but sadly the fire in me got the better and I settled to glaring at the man that was obviously in charge. Brant slid off the building and landed on his feet. He turned and shouted up at me, "Come on! Hop down - I'll catch you!" I glanced at him warily and then how far the ground was. I sighed what the heck? If he didnt catch me it'd be a quick death. I jumped down biting my bottom lip so I didnt scream in front of all these people. I had a feeling weakness wasnt tolerated here. Brant caught me for the third time on this day he bent so I could stand on the ground. A black haired boy walked over and hollered at Rapunzel to come down. She leapt off the building screaming all the way. She landed heavily in the guys arms and he staggered slightly and then put her down. She glanced at the ground and seen the mud and backed quickly on the grass. I knew I was in the mud I could feel it squishing between my toes but eh it was tolerable.

We all could easily hear the villagers running towards us. The huge guy shot a spine chilling glare towards Rapunzel. I stepped in front of her and shot a fiery glare of my own at him. "Yes?" I dared to ask him in a threatening tone. He seemed amused and turned to his men, "Right since Rapunzel cared to alert the villagers, half of you will hold them off. The other half follow me to camp to get the "princesses" back." A few of the men dared to snicker. The closest a blond boy around my age fairly muscular but mostly thin and wiry. I spun around and kicked him squarely in the chest with my foot. He fell to the ground pretty quickly with a groan. I glared questionably at the other men. All of them shut up pretty damn fast. I was fine with them laughing at me. But my sister? Was an entirely different story. Brant was clapping lightly and walked up behind me, "Very nicely done now lets get you two to camp shall we?" The huge guy in the middle started to speak but thought better of it. He gestured to some men to stay behind and called out other names to escort us to camp including Brant.
