Chapter 8

Harry's POV

Percy and Annabeth walked downstairs,hand in hand.They sat at the table,siruisly discussing something in the language that Percy and Jess were talking in before.I cleared my throat.Both of them looked at me.I took a deep breath,trying to figure out what to say."So,Percy,if you don't mind me asking,what's up with Jess?"I asked.Percy's face shifted to confusion."What do you mean?"He asked.I opened my mouth to talk."She's kinda rude to Harry and I,not to mention her boyfriend could be He-who-must-not-be-named himself."Ron said bluntly.Hermione's face shot out of her book faster than a bullet."Ronald Weasley!That is very rude,can you tell me one thing you actually know about her or Nico?!?!"Hermione said,her voice slightly raised.Ron was about to respond when Percy started talking."Look,I see where your coming from.Jess can be a little.....guarded sometimes.She's had a bad past,even worse than me.If she doesn't start spilling her greatest secrets to you guys right off the bat,you can't complain.Once she trusts you guys,she'll be a lot warmer,I promise.Just cut her some slack.After all,you guys kidnapped us,called us death eaters,and,you put her in a cat carrier.That's extremely offensive to her."Percy said.We looked at him,surprised.Why hadn't we thought about that. After Percy seemed to warm up right away,we didn't really think about why Jess would be closed up. Percy suddenly stood up,causing all of us to jump."They've been up there forever and a day."He said walking out.I leaned back in my chair,thinking more about Jess.

Percy's POV

I walked up the stairs,going up to the door of our room."I'm coming in!Hope you guys are decent!"I shouted at the door,bursting in.I saw what I didn't expect.Nico was holding Jess as she twitched in her sleep,meowing every couple seconds.After I walked in,Nico collapsed on the floor.I rushed to his side and layed him on the bed.He began twitching as well.I sat by their sides and waited.

--Time skip of cereal!!!--

Nico shot off the bed and began pacing.I kept sitting by the bed.Nico took no notice of me as Jess slowly stirred.He flew over to her and looked at her worriedly.She opened her eyes and sat up.She punched Nico in the chest.He stumbled backward a few feet."Jess........?"He said uncertainly.Jess looked angry and worried at the same time."Why did you do that?You could have killed yourself!I warned you it was dangerous.And at the first sign of trouble,what do you do?You jump into my mind with no idea what you were getting into!!"She shouted.Now Nico looked angry."I did it to see what was happening in your mind because you looked scared!"He shouted at the same level as Jess.I slowly slipped out the door just as everyone,including the order, raced up the stairs.Dumbledore appeared right in front of me.He grabbed my shoulder."Percy,what's happening?"He asked,his eyes showing concern.I looked into his eyes."Um,well,it's kind hard to explain.We have to wait until they are done and then they can explain.It's not my issue to tell."WHERE WOULD I BE IF YOU DIED IN MY OWN HEAD!!WHAT DO YOU THINK WOULD HAPPEN YOU-(such words are not appropriate for this story.)"Everyone jumped as something shattered inside.I told everyone to go back down and when they were done Jess would explain.They all went back downstairs and Annabeth and I walked down after.We could all hear Jess and Nico shouting from the kitchen.Then suddenly then stopped.We all waited for Jess and Nico to come down.

Jess' POV

I chucked a random vase at Nico.We were both shouting at the top of our lungs and I was sure Zeus could hear us."Why are you so upset?I did it to protect you!!!"Nico shouted.I sunk to the floor,bringing my knees up to my chest."Protect me from what,Nico?My mind?There's nothing you can do to protect me from that.Your mind is a dark place that knows all your fears,your secrets.And it doesn't care about using them against you.Your mind,a place those who can't handle reality go deep into."I said.Nico came and sat down next to me,wrapping his arms around me."I know,Jess,I know.I was in my mind 24/7 before I met you.I hated everything.I couldn't take it."He said.I looked up at him and he rolled up his sleeves,showing me his scars.They were less than mine,but scars all the same.I started to cry.Small tears at first,then sobs wracked my whole body.I hugged Nico and tried to speak."Nico,i-i'm sorry.I shouldn't have yelled at you.I was so worried that you would hurt yourself.And if you had gotten hurt or worse,and you were just trying to comfort me,I would have felt so guilty,because it would have been my fault."I sobbed.He hugged me tighter."No,Jess.It was my fault.I knew it was dangerous and I shouldn't have done it.I didn't think about what could have happened.I was just being selfish."He said.I shook my head and buried my face into his shirt.He stood up and offered me his hand.I grabbed it and stood up.We hugged each other and walked downstairs.When we entered the kitchen,everyone's heads turned to us.Percy opened his mouth to speak,but I held up my hand before he could say anything."Please do not ask me or Nico about what happened,i'm sure you have a good idea,due to how loud we were yelling.We ask for as much privacy as you can give us."I said. Everyone nodded and resumed their conversations.I sat down.Harry looked at me.I looked at him.He opened his mouth and closed it.He did this twice more before I began to get irritated."Look,scarface, do you need the Heimlich or something are you ok?"I asked.He nodded."I'm fine.Listen,i'm sorry that we judged you before thinking,it was a wrong decision and I hope you can forgive us."He said, honesty in his eyes.I nodded,thinking hard."Ok,I forgive you and bookie because I believe you regret it and bookie just went with the somewhat logical option.But,fireface has to apologize himself."I said. Harry nodded."I understand."He said.I shrugged."Thank you,Harry."I said.He looked at me in shock. "What?"I asked.He shook himself out of his trance."You called me by my real name."He said.I rolled my eyes."Yup,and it's the last time,Scarface."I said and smiled at him.He laughed and started a conversation with Bookie.(A/n:Bookie is Hermione)I politely talked with everyone around the table.I met Tonks,who I sensed had an affection towards the werewolf.I learned she was a metamorhagus (Spelling?)She gave heself cat ears,tail,and,muzzle.She looked awesome.The smell of food drifted into my nose and my mouth watered,I hadn't eaten since last night.As Mrs.Weasley entered the room ,with trays of food floating behind her,I stared at the food like I was dying.Which I was,of course.I need food.As soon as she set the food down,I ate like an animal.I'm pretty sure I turned into a Neko once or twice while eating.When I was done,everyone stared at me."What?"I asked,raising an eyebrow. Everyone laughed. I was confused."What?"I asked again.Bookie looked back at me and blushed. "Well..you ate like an animal.You're worse than Ron and your brother combined."She said.I laughed."Sorry to tell you Bookie,but your wrong."I said.She furrowed her eyebrows.I guess she didn't like being told she was wrong.She opened her mouth to say something but I held up my hand."I,when eating,am like Percy and Fireface combined three times when eating.It could have gotten much worse."I said.Percy, Annabeth,and Nico all laughed."Actually,she's correct."Percy said."One time,she got lost in the woods around our summer camp,and it was three days until she found her way back."Annabeth said. Then Nico cut in."When she returned,everyone was asleep except us and a couple other friends.She ran straight to the pavilion and ate three tables before we could stop her,"He said.I blushed from embarrassment."Guys,that was one time and I was really hungry.Stop telling that story to everyone we meet."I said.Percy laughed."Then don't eat like a starving lion and keep reminding us of it."He said.I smiled evilly."You know,Percy,the stew has fish in it."I pointed to the pot at the center of the table. Percy paled dramatically and ran out the door.I cackled like an evil witch.Mrs.Weasley looked confused.Percy entered the room and sat down,still pale.Mrs.Weasley looked at Percy with concern."Percy,I hope you know,the stew does not have seafood in it."She said.Percy looked at me giggling silently and lunged over the table at me.I flung him over me and he landed on the floor with a Thud.I laughed."That's what you get."I said,still laughing.Percy stood up and I jumped at him.I heard Nico and Annabeth telling everyone that this was a normal.It was only half true,we fought occasionally,but usually we got along pretty well. Sometimes I loved to annoy the cereal out of everyone.It was fun.I tumbled around with Percy for a few minutes before turning into a Neko and running around the table,Percy right behind me.He grabbed my tail and lifted me into the air.I squirmed around as he walked out the door,me in hand.He walked into the bathroom and dunked me into the toilet.I shot out of the bowl and clawed at Percy's face.I scratched him on the cheek and on his nose before running back into the dinning hall,still soaking.As I walked in,everyone looked at me.Fred and George saw me first and started laughing.I walked over to them and shook off the water onto them.I turned back into a human and sat next to Nico.Percy walked in next,Band-aid's on his face.Once he sat down next to Annabeth,Dumbledore stood up."Now that the excitement of the night is over,I would like to announce something."We all looked up at him expectantly.He cleared his throat and continued. "Tomorrow,Percy and Jess need to go get their supplies for Hogwarts.And-"He was about to continue when Nico stood up and so did Annabeth.Nico looked at Dumbledore."With all due respect sir,I refuse to let Jess and Percy go to some random wizard school,without some kind of protection."He said. Albus' eyes twinkled."And what exactly do you suggest,Mr.Di Angelo?"He asked.Nico looked thoughtful for a moment. "Annabeth and myself."He said.Percy and I looked at Nico and Annabeth. They both looked at Dumbledore.After some thinking,Albus nodded.I jumped up and tackled Nico in a hug.Everyone laughed.Dumbledore gave a hearty chuckle."Well then.Everyone,I will pick up Percy,Annabeth,Jess, and Nico in the morning.Goodbye."He said,and vanished.We cleaned up,went upstairs,and got into bed.Well,Nico and I slept at the foot of the bed in Neko form.I yearned for sleep to come,exited to wake up next morning.
