Chapter 14

Hey guys!!Im back (for the most part) and ready to update!!

Jess' POV

I felt a little knot form in my stomach as the whole hall looked in my direction, but I shook it off and walked confidently up to the hat.

Sitting down on the three legged stool, I felt the knot in my stomach get a little bigger.What if I was sorted into Slytherin?I mean, I dont think it would be a huge deal, but i've heard that no one really likes Slytherins, that its the evil house.

I gulped slightly as the brown old hat was placed onto my head.Hmm, very interesting one here. It said.I closed my eyes.Better for concentrating I guess.'Well, uh, hey there.'I said back to it.

Very interesting.Oh, ok.Not much for conversation then.Oh, how well you would do in Slytherin. Well, thats a rather cliché move there, mister hat.'Um, how about not that one.'I thought with a small grimace.Hmm, whats this?Not Slytherin then.How about-

This was yelled out loudly, freaking bursting my eardrums as it echoed across the hall. "HUFFLEPUFF!!!!"

The tables clapped as I rushed over to the table to sit next to Percy.He ruffled my hair, thankfully not uncovering my ears."Hey there Jess, nice of you to drop by."I grinned."Yup, now we'll be seeing more of each other than ever before!"Percy opened his mouth to reply when Dumbledore stood up.

After a long and really odd speech, the food finally appeared on the table.I loaded my plate, digging in immediately.I noticed people staring as I dug into my food like a wild animal, but to be perfectly honest, I didnt care.Starving, thats what I was.I was never not hungry.Its who I am.Food is part of my personality.

After the food had disappeared, the prefects stood up and brought their houses to their respective common rooms.Paercy and I said goodbye to Annabeth and Nico before rushing after our prefects, not realizing how far behind we were.

I laid in  my bed wide awake, having trouble sleeping.Finally, I broke.Standing up, I tiptoed quietly out of the common room, switching into my Neko form and running around the halls for a bit.My energy knew no bounds as I leapt to and fro from random statues and across the staircases.

When I finally made it back to the Common room, I was actually tired.It was probably around one in the morning when my eyes finally closed.

Mornings were always a difficult thing to deal with for me.Another way of saying it was I am not a morning person.I rose up, got dressed slowly and made my way down to the Great hall for food.The idea of breakfast increased my mood greatly.

Another meal of just shoving my face went by and I realized that some random owl had dropped a scroll of paper by me, the roll tied up with a red ribbon and a red wax seal.I broke it open, reading over the paper.It was my schedule.

I checked with Percy.We of course had all the same classes.I checked with Nico and Annabeth as well.Hufflepuffs had Defense against the dark arts with Ravenclaws and Double Herbology with  Gryffindors.I laughed a little bit at that."Percy, we are going to fail so hard at Herbology."

I watched as Percy paled slightly."Oh no, Katie is gonna chew me out when we get back to Camp."I giggled, patting him on the shoulder."Hey, thats a full school year away, don't worry about it."

There was apparently no bell that rang like a Muggle school, you just had to figure it out.Percy and I left the great hall, trying to find our way to our first class: History of Magic.

The first thought on my mind when entering the class room.'Oh god this is going to suck.' I could see at least two kids that brought pillows to the class, not to mention the walls were blank, tan bricks.And the teacher was a ghost.There was a key thing there.

We sat down, waiting with a bit of anticipation.The ghost looked up from whatever it was doing (Probably important ghost things, I would assume) and floated over to the front to begin the class.It wasnt even five minutes into the class before I felt my heavy eyelids close.

Welp, theres that!!Sorry its a bit short, im a bit rusty.I think 700 words is pretty good for twenty minutes though.I really am gonna try and keep updating.Probably wont have a regular schedule for a long time but hey, working on it!!Constructive criticism is welcome!!!Now, make sure to eat lots of cereal and goodbye for now my loyal subjects!! -CatQueen2
