Time. That is all it takes for a human being to know what is going around them. The world could be spinning several circles around them making them dizzy, or going by as slowly as possible, but will they know it? What do people mean when using the phrasing "time will tell" and "time will undo all?" A person have---had an idea, but then time shifted, changed. People look at a clock everyday of their life, or sometimes all day, what does it say? Tick-Tock-Tick-Tock-Tick-Tock. Does that mean time is running out? What does time even mean? Don't a person want to know all the answers to these questions? They can if they pick up a dictionary, but what does it really mean? One minute they are doing something fun or energetic, but then time changes, time runs out.
It's been almost a year since Amanda last saw Peter. Andrew had willing been taking Lucas over so he could spend time with his father. Amanda had already forgiven Peter but there is this distance that had been there, before they had been separated. Amanda is scared that, if she even mention that she had forgave him, he would do it again. So she have been avoiding him, hoping that she want have to tell him how she feel about this situation. Little did she know that was about to change.
It was a warm evening day in Seattle and Amanda was stuck in the hospital with a patient who came into the emergency room with blood all over her worn-out skinny jeans and a wrinkle blue grey shirt. Her husband was standing right be sided her, screaming for a doctor and he was too covered in blood. Amanda was shocked as to what could have caused this to happen. The woman did not have any cuts or bruises on her but the one sign that Amanda did notice was that she was holding her stomach and chest. She also had blood pouring out of her mouth and looked like she could collapse any minute now. Amanda raced over there as fast as she could holding her steady and screamed for the nurses to get her a stretcher, while the patient's husband was worried as to what was happening to his wife.
Once the nurses got Amanda a stretcher, she proceeded to lay the woman down as the nurses were surrounding her trying to help. They then rushed the woman to the elevators to go to the operating room, completely forgetting the husband.
"What is happening to my wife?"
Amanda motioned for the nurses to go ahead, while she talk to the husband.
"Sir, I need to you to calm down." Amanda calmly say, as she put her hands in her coat jacket. "I can't tell you what is happening to your wife right now, but I can tell you we will try our very best to keep her stable and I will give updates, when I can."
Amanda turned around heading back towards the elevator, when she felt a hand grabbed her arm stopping Amanda in her path.
"She's pregnant. My wife," he cried out, trailing off.
"My team and I will do our very best to save your wife and your child."
Amanda raced to the elevator pushing the button as quickly as she can. She reached left of her light blue scrub pants to get her pager. She paged Andrew and his mentor, Alexandra to get to the OR. When she had reach the OR, Amanda saw Andrew and Alexandra already there. She saw two nurses holding a gown open for her and she slip her arms through, while grabbing some hand sanitizer and then slipping her hands through the latex gloves and then stood across from Alexandra.
"She is pregnant, Dr. Robbins." is all that could come out of her mouth as she look at the patient, who has cords all around her.
"It is going alright, Dr. Gates. I cannot promise you that, but I can promise you I will try my best to save this patient." She says in a sincere tone.
Amanda look at her for a minute and then give her a nod, while picking up the scalpel.
"Patient came into the emergency room with blood all over her clothes and husband clothes. She was holding her chest and stomach. She also had blood coming out of her mouth. Any possibilities, before I start the first cut." Amanda questioned, hoping for someone to speak up.
