Chapter 7: Jasper Meet My Family

My niece and nephew were on the phone. "Why are you guys calling?" I asked them. "We miss you. You should video chat with us," Sandy said to me. "You guys can. I have my laptop on," I told her. After a few minutes, a message appeared on the screen.

I accepted the message and Sandy and Derek appeared on the screen. "Auntie Beverly!" They were very happy to see me. I was happy to see them. I missed them very much. I could tell that they had grown a bit.

"Hi kids," I said to them. "When are you coming over?" Derek asked me. "I don't know. I'll try to come soon," I honestly told them. With everything that had happen here recently, I wasn't sure about visiting them.

"Is that Uncle Jasper?" Sandy asked me. "Yes. It's him," I informed them. Jasper had a smile on his face. "Hi Uncle Jasper!" they said to him. "Hello kids," he said to them. "Finally, we get to see you," Derek said to him.

He gave him a nod. "Where's your dad?" I asked them. Their expressions changed when I mentioned their father. "Is something wrong?" I asked them with concern. What are you guys doing on the computer?" I heard. {Uh...oh.} The kids turned their heads. I could see Brent behind them at the door. "Talking with Auntie Beverly and Uncle Jasper," they said in unison.

I saw Brent coming closer to the computer. "Hello Beverly," he said to me. "Hi big brother," I said to him. Brent looked at the kids. "Go and see what your mother is doing. I want to talk to your aunt in private," he said to them.

They pouted and walked out of the room. Soon, my brother sat in a chair in front of his computer. I knew that we were going to have a serious talk. Plus, Jasper was here next to me so I knew that he was going to talk to him.

Brent looked at Jasper. "Hello Jasper. My name is Brent Melrone. I am the one of the leaders of the Melrone family as well as the psychic vampire community," he introduced himself to Jasper. Jasper gave him a nod.

"Hello. I am known as Jasper Hale but, my full name is Jasper Whitlock," Jasper said to him. I had already told Brent about Jasper's background. "I'm happy to meet you and hopefully in person very soon," Brent told him. Jasper gave him a nod.

Brent looked at me. "I can see why you love him the way you do Beverly," he told me. I gave him a nod and leaned my head on Jasper's shoulder. Jasper put his arms around me. "I really do love him," I said to him.

"You know that he would have to go through the trial right," Brent told me. I gave him a nod. I already told Jasper about the trials.  "I understand," Jasper told him. "I would like for you to do the trials before you two get married of course," he told him. Jasper gave him a nod.

They really had a lot to talk about to each other. After talking to Brent, we got to talk with the kids for an hour. The kids asked Jasper so many questions. I could see that he didn't mind talking to them at all.

In the afternoon, Bella wanted to see her father and reveal that she and Edward adopted a baby. The next day, Charlie came by and saw them. I was out in the forest walking around and feeding on my energy.

Winter.....

Over days and months, we watched Renesmee grow at a fast rate. Carlisle had been taking measurements of her height as the days passed. Everyone was very concerned for her. She wasn't growing normal.

Renesmee and I did spent time together. I would read her books, play games, and walk her in the forest a bit. She was my niece. Sometimes, she would ask me about being a psychic vampire. She was a very curious child.

I was making my way to the kitchen when Jake, Bella, and Renesmee came home from their walk in the woods. Renesmee ran up to me and gave me a hug. "Hi Aunt Beverly," she said to me. She was adorable.

I got down to her eye level. "Hi. Did you have fun?" I asked her. She gave me a nod. I looked up at Bella to see her trouble face. I had a feeling that something was wrong. I turned my attention back to Renesmee.

"I was about to make my famous hot chocolate. You want some?" I asked her. She gave me a nod. I took her hand and walked her to the kitchen. Bella went to find Edward while Jake followed us. I walked to the stove to make my peppermint hot chocolate.

"Did you make cookies?" she asked me. "Yes. They are cooling now," I said to her. I made some winter cookies. There was chocolate peppermint and sugar cookies. "You want one too Jacob?" I asked him.

"No thank you," he said to me. I poured the hot chocolate in a cup and placed it in front of Renesmee. "Be careful. It's still hot," I told her. I got four cookies and placed the plate in front of her. She was enjoying them.

Soon, Bella, Edward and Jasper came into the kitchen. Bella and Edward sat next to Renesmee while Jasper pulled me into his arms. I turned to Bella. "What's wrong?" I asked her. She looked at me. "I saw Irina," she told me.

{Irina? Why would she be out here?} Edward looked at me. "It seems odd. Doesn't it," he said to me. I gave him a nod. After Renesmee finished her snack, we made our way to the living room to talk some things.

Spring....

The snow had melted and the plants started to grow again. Everyone was in the living room. Edward was playing the piano with Renesmee while Rosalie, Emmett, Jake, and Bella listened to the music. Carlisle was playing chess with Esme. Jacob was reading a book. Alice was somewhere in the house.

I was taking a nap in Jasper's lap. Lately, I hadn't been sleeping very well for some reason. I didn't know what was wrong with me. Carlisle checked me and he told me that I was stressed. Jasper had to use his powers to make me go to sleep. I was extremely tired.

CRASH!

I was startled and woke from my nap. I turned my head to see Alice there staring at everyone. She dropped a glass vase with flowers. "What is it Alice?" Jasper asked her. I could see concern on his face.

I got off from Jasper and stood up. Jasper stood up and wrapped his arms around me. I rest my head on his chest.

"The Volturi. They are coming for us," Alice said with a bit of fright.

I started to become worried.
