"So, where are we going again?" I raise my eyebrow, questioning Kristoff's actions to practically throw me in his truck and not tell me where we are going. It was a perfectly normal day, we both woke up at noon and had a big brunch, but now... Normally he goes to work, and I stay at home and play video games... Instead he's insisted to take me somewhere...
"That's for you to find out, and for me to know." A smile spreads across his face, making me question his motives even more. We've been living together for a few months now, and we've been to see Elsa and Jack a couple times. They're married, and Elsa's even pregnant! I'm sooo happy for her! We would go to visit them more often... But a five hour drive is loooong. Sometimes we drive back to Arendelle College to see how everything is doing, and maybe go to an occasional football game or concert for the band or choir.
"Can't you please give me a hint?" I stick out my bottom lip, trying to guilt him into spilling some of the information, which normally works.
"Nope. That's not going to work on me today, feisty pants." He takes a turn, which places us on an oddly familiar road... But I can't quite place how I recognize it. "Either way. We're going to more than one place."
"Oh really now?" I furrow my eyebrows, trying to think of where we could be going. Kristoff normally takes me out to the local café when he's in a romantic mood, or possibly Olive Garden. But we usually have our own little date nights at his house. A movie, bowl of popcorn, and a blanket makes a great way to end the day.
"Ah, we're at our first stop." He shifts the truck into park, then jumps out. I do the same as he, only trying to find a name to this building... This oddly familiar building. He takes my hand and leads me through the doors, keeping his left hand in his pocket. "Look familiar?"
I gasp, finally registering that this is the student library for Arendelle College. "We're at the library." I look at him and smile brightly.
He nods his head, and begins to lead me through the aisles, taking me to the familiar table located in the center of the library. "Shall we sit, studdy buddy?" He calls me by the nickname he gave me during college...
"Why, of course mountain man." I stick my tongue out at him, while he pulls out my chair for me. I sit down, looking at the books on the table.... Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Helen Keller, Grammar Made Simple, Era- "Grammar Made Simple..." I reach for the book and hold it in my hand, slowly turning the pages of the book. Oh the great memories that can be triggered from a simple book. But... On a familiar page... Page 35, there lies a simple not, just as there was in a time ago... I grab the paper, tears pooling in my eyes, and read the words of the handwriting belonging to the person I've come to love. "Anna, I know that you wanted me to do this more romantic than I said it on the night we graduated. But I wanted it to be something more than the flowers and fancy restaurants. I've purchased this book, so that we can always have the amazing memories. You can look to my normal study seat, and you will find a piece of paper. Please fold this paper up and place it back in the book, and take the book with you. Read the piece of paper in my chair next.
~love Kris"
Tears are already falling down my face, knowing the reason why he was making this afternoon so special. I turn to his empty chair, and sure enough, there's another piece of paper. I snatch up that paper and quickly unfold it with shaking hands. "You know where I went. Please meet me there."
Immediately, with the book and note in hand, I bolt out of the library, beginning my race to the park. After the few minutes of running with tears streaming down my face, I finally see him sitting there. On the very same bench that started this all. Sitting on the left side, with room to his right, but just enough for one person. After trying to compose my self, but failing, I walk slowly to the bench, and take my place next to him. I lean my head on his shoulder, and he kisses my hair before sliding off the bench and kneeling in front of me. "Anna Summer Reed, you are the most wonderful, beautiful, and amazing person I've ever met in my entire life. You've been my friend since the day I transferred, and I knew from the moment that you introduce yourself to me, that we would be great friends. Your personality and beauty captivated me, and I finally realized that I loved you, and you have no idea how relieved I was to know that you love me too." He reaches into his pocket, pulling out a black velvet box, which triggers me to begin crying more tears of joy. "I know I said that I would marry you once we had the money, and I'm going to do just that. So, Anna Summer Reed, would you give me the greatest honor and pleasure of becoming my wife?" He opens the box, revealing a simple, but the most beautiful diamond ring I've ever laid eyes on.
I nod my head, speechless from my tears of joy. After a minute of just shaking my head I'm finally able to squeak out, "Of course I'll marry you."
