My stomach hurt.

I won't eat, I shouldn't eat.

I haven't eaten in the past four days.

My mouth became dry and I drank enough water to fill me up again.

Texting Autumn and walking four houses down, I waited on her doorstep.

The sun was rising slowly but I promised her I would arrive early so we could make it on school grounds before all the other kids.

"Hey 'mitri." She whispered pulling her hoodie over her chest.

"How are you?" I questioned pushing her hair out of her eye sight.

Studying her doll like features, I felt lost.

"You're beautiful, you know?" She mumbled to me. "Your pale skin, bright green eyes, curly brown hair and the way that you're so different."

I couldn't stop myself from pulling her into a hug.

"That's the nicest thing someone's told me in years." I mumbled onto her shoulders.

And it made me happy that she actually made me feel worth something.
