He wore puffy hoodies to hide his stomach. His long and thick curls hid his pale face.

He stood at 5'11 which was average for his age.

Taking his daily walk to school, He noticed a girl waving at him.

More specifically, Waving him down. Her bright smile shined and he stared at her eyes. She was either his age or a year younger.

"I-I just moved here, I was trying to look for Jefferson high b-but I got lost. Do you think you could give me directions to the school?" She stumbled over words.

Her dark brown eyes and tanned mocha skin went perfectly with her perfectly straight jet black hair.

Standing at about 5'8, she wasn't short like any of the other girls from his school either.

She looked to be African American and Hispanic.

Beautiful.

"T-Thank you," she mumbled before his eyes widened.

The wind rushing past them on the chilly Florida day.

"I said that out loud, didn't I?" He didn't give her time to respond before he led the way to the school.

His breathing sped up slightly.

He was scared of the day that was ahead of him.

He was scared of people.

Pausing before the school front doors, he waited for the girl to walk ahead of him.

But the thing is; She didn't.

Her light tap on his shoulder brought him back to reality.

"U-Uhm sir... man or boy?" She whispered while he began to think.

'I should go home.'

'No!' His conscious told him basically shouting out the word.

'I don't want to be hurt again.' He argued back with the voice.

'If you go home, They will win,' It reasoned sounding logical and truthful.

'They can win, i don't want to go through this anymore,'

The girl stepped back as the boy began to talk to himself.

Yanking at his hair slightly.

Tears slipped out of his eyes.

Her eyebrows rose while he struggled to inhale air. He couldn't face people or the possible pain.

She did the impossible though. Instead of running away, she placed a hand on his shoulder.

Suddenly a voice shouted.

"Hey everyone look at the loser!" A male voice echoed before everyone in front of the school stared.

Some laughed and others pointed but the girl? She pulled the boys body into her arms and hugged him.

Shielding his body with her own.
