Rarity sighed as she looked at herself in her vanity's mirror.  She looked like an absolute mess. Her mane had fallen down, giving it more of a wavy look than the curls she adored, and her cheeks were tear stained.

She set about grabbing her hair curlers and gently wrappy her har in them. Once all her hair was done, she reached to her right and pulle out makeup removing wipes from her vanity's drawer.

Rarity used her magic and wiped of her eyeshadow and eyeliner. She then carefully removed her fake eyelashes and threw thwm into the tash bin.

She sighed and looked at herself in the mirror. God, she was an absolute wreck; all because of Rainbow Dash.

Why did she have to come back so soon? If she had stayed away then maybe Rarity could have had Applejack to herself.

Rarity ahook her head. No, it wasn't Rainbow's fault. Applejack and her had always been close in a way that herself and Applejavk hadn't.

She sighed again, she had given up on Applejack. Rarity knew that as long as Rainbow Dash was around, there would be no way of being with Applejack.

Rarity paused in her thought. What if Rainbow Dash wasn't around anymore? Could there possibly be a way to get her to leave? The more she thought about it the more absurd it all sounded.

Steal Applejack? That was low.

Suddenly, her doorbell ringed. Rarity got up from her vanity stool and made her way to answer the door.

Imagine her surprise when she opened it to find Spike.

"H-hi Rarity,"He said nervously, "Could I come in, please?"

Rarity still shocked that Spike even wanted to be around her especially after..well...

She side stepped to allow him to walk in. After closing the door behind him, Rarity walked and sat down on her living room sofa. Spike sat down next to her and stayed silent for a few moments, as if collecting his thoughts.

He turned to her and took a deep breath before he said, " Rarity, I don't know what Applejack has that I don't. I can't even begin to understand why you like her. You're both so different. She lives to buck apples and you live to design clothes and find beautiful gems. I've been thinking these past few days and I justs want to say that even if you don't like me anymore, I won't give up. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Rare, you are the most beautiful mare in Equestria and there's nopony else for me. I love you.."

Spike let his sentence trail off, he'd lost his confidence. He sbegan to stand up to leave when Rarity grabbed his claw. Spike looked at her, surprised.

She had tears in her unmakeuped ((is that even a word?? Idek??)) Eyes. Spike sat back down as she began to sob.

"Oh, what's wrong with me Spike?" She looked to the floor as she continued to speak, "I had what every mare hopes for. A guy who cares about her more than himself.. and I threw it all away on a passing fancy."

Rarity stopped and wiped her eyes, finally realizing that Applejack and her would never work out even if she did get her. They were the bipolar opposite of one another.

She looked at Spike and threw her arms around him.

"I love you too Spike. I'm so sorry, I just got confused." Rarity whispered into his shoulder.

Spike hugged her back and held her as she let her emotions out.

Rarity knew now that she could never have Applejack, and the was perfectly fine now. She had her little Spikey-Wikey and nothing was going to change that now.

After she'd cried awhile, Rarity leaned back and looked at Spike, who had a big goofy grin on his face.

"What?" Rarity asked, becoming selfconcious, "Is there something in my teeth?"

Spike shook his head, chuckling.

"No, its just you look really pretty without your makeup on. It's more natural, I like it." He said.

Rarity blushed and smiled, suddenly remembering that her hair was still up in curlers.

"I'm going to take my hair down," Raroty stated and untwined herself from Spike, who just nodded.

"I'll be here waiting," He said with a smile as Rarity walkedout of the room.

She went back upstairs to her room and once again sat down on her vanity's stool.

Rarity observed herself in the mirror wondering if Spike's words were true.

She didn't have bags under her eyes and her coat had a slight glow. Smiling, Rarity began to carefully take out the curlers from her mane.

When she was done doing that, Rarity decided that she wasn't going to put on any eyeshadow, just her fake eyelashes.

After, she'd applied them, Rarity went to her wardrobe and picked out a one shoulder strap red dress that stopped above her ankles.

She walked downstairs and into the living room. Rarity giggled a bit seeing Spike's awed face.

"Want to go out for dinner with me Spikey?" Rarity purred.

Spike hopped off the couch and ran up to her. Holding his arm out, he smiled and so did she. Then they left the boutique and made their way to Rarity's favorite restuarant.

Little did they know, the night was just about to get more interesting.
