Chloe's POV.

"My father hates me"

This was a story I detest repeating ever again.

"Chloe" he said.

"Hmm" I responded.

"You okayy??" he asked.

"I guess" I muttered.

"When mom got pregnant with me, dad went into some sort of crisis, and he felt that it was my fault and I was a bad influence on their perfect family. He asked mom to abort me but mom didn't and the situation got fucked up after that, he used to beat mom a lot, one night he got home all drunk and shit, Lucas called the cops when he saw, that asshole beating my mom. And since then we haven't heard from him." I was trying hard to hold back my tears.

"I hate him soo much not because he hates me because of what he did to my mom," I added.

Carter's POV.

I threaded my arms beneath her shoulders and hair. She positioned her head on my chest and gave up. "Don't cry," I whispered, nuzzling her cheek as she hugged me viciously and her body wracked with sobs.

"I can't help it."

"It's alright Chloe, don't cry, please" I said, tightening my grasp on her shoulder.

"I am fine," she said, wiping her tears with her sleeves.

"That man isn't worth my tears," she smiled with watery eyes.

"That's my girl," I said, moving a bit nearer to her.

I pressed my lips on her forehead not knowing why.

I guess she needed it and it felt so right.

Going through all that and still being able to smile. She really deserves all the happiness in the world.

'I won't let these tears come in your eyes ever again Chloe, I promise' I said in my brain.

"Sometimes I feel it's my mistake, that mom lost her husband and Lucas lost his father, it's all because of me" she said after some time.

"And that's just bullshit, okay, you don't have to feel bad for yourself, do you get that!! You are the best sister and the best daughter anyone could ever wish for!!" I replied.

"You sound just like Lucas!!" she smiled.

"I am glad I do," I pronounced.

"Do you know why he did all that??" She said confusing me.

"Who??" She is confusing okay.

"My dad, there was a reason he did all that shit" she sighed.

"What??" What possible reason a dad could have to hate his own daughter.

"He was cheating on mom, and precisely to hide his mistake he did this!"

"What the fuck??, it was his mistake and he fucking blamed you, that asshole!!" This really made me angry.

"Yeaah" she sighed.

"Well, just leave it, Lucas told me not to think about it and believe me, I also don't want to think about it, so just forget it" wow she is strong.

"Yes, you don't even have to think about it or even talk about it, let's close this chapter of your life here!" Why do I suck at comforting people?
