We drove through Grants pass, Rosenberg, Eugene, Salem, and we were just now reaching Beaverton. I decided to take a nap seeing as we have been driving since 5:00 Am and I had been up until midnight making sure I had everything packed and ready to go. I closed my eyes and drifted of into a dreamless sleep.
I was shaken awake by my father who I glared at. He just smiled and said, "we're here." I then looked around, we were driving through a small town. We passed a bunch of little shops on mainstreet and there were quite a few fastfood places scatered around although there were probably only like five family owned restaurants.
When we reached a stoplight towards the end of town my dad took a right turn then a sharp left. We then pulled into the parkinglot on a small doughnut shop.
"Do you want me to get you something or do you want to go in?"my dad asked getting out and looking at me expectantly. I sighed, unbuckled, jumped out of the uhaul, and silently followed my father in.
A sign hung above the door that read Joe's Doughnuts. The shop was a small red and white painded brick building that looked like it had been there since the town was built. Some of the other buildings lookdd simular with the same old style. Behind the old doughnut shop was a park wi th a large wooden playstructer. Children could be heard laughing and playing on the playground as their parents watched them.
