Laura's POV
In class, sitting next to Ross. I'm writing a story under the table. Yeah, I'm not usually a rebel, but you know...boredom.
"Miss Marano, what are you doing under the table?"
My eyes widened and I shoved the notebook on Ross' lap.
"Mr. Lynch, what was Miss Marano doing?"
I turned my head at Ross instantly.
"She was uhh...taking notes, Ms. Beale!"
She didn't look convinced. "Doesn't like it. Miss Marano, please hand me your notebook."
I reluctantly got my book back from Ross and handed it to her.
"You will have detention today and I will confiscate your phone for a few days."
"But-" I started to protest.
"Nuh-uh. No buts, Miss Marano. You made a mistake and you know, mistake has consequences."
"Ms. Beale, I volunteer to take Laura's place!"
I gasped.

"Look at what I've gotten you into! We now both have detention! Just because of me!" I ran my hands through my hair frustratedly as Ross and I walked towards our lockers.
"Laura, I don't want to leave you alone in detention with those bad boys. Who knows what they'll do to you?"
"Is that the real reason or you just didn't want them to flirt with me?" I smirked.
He started to stammer. "Pfftt...whaaaaaattt? I'm f-fine with t-that."
I pretended to look hurt. "So you won't mind if I did this?" I turned around and saw a boy passing.
"Hey!" I called out.
"Oh hey gorgeous," he winked at me.
I winked back. "What's your name, cutie?"
"Peyton. And you?"
"Laura."
"What a beautiful name for a gorgeous girl like you. Wanna hang out sometime?"
Before I could respond, Ross answered with a "No, she's busy. Goodbye." and pulled me away.
I smirked at him. "Jealous?"
"Yeah..." he admitted. "You're mine."
"I'm all yours, Rossy."
"You're lucky you're the only person who can call me that," he wrapped his arm around me and placed a kiss on the side of my head.
"I'm starving." I said.
"Way to ruin the moment, Laura."
"Oh wait. We were having a moment? I didn't know that." I smirked.
He scowled. "Shut up, Marano."
I just laughed and pulled him into the cafeteria.
