When we walked through the door we noticed nothing had changed. It looked just like the movies. There were the jocks, preps, sluts, nerds, stoners, weirdos and so much more that would be in your common teen movie.
"Let's go Chach" Kolby said taking me into the office.
Kolby had been my best friend since we were in diapers. We did everything together. From going to the movies, shopping, sleepovers, homework and sneaking out. We always considered us twins separated at birth.
"Hi, welcome back ladies. Names?" asked the lady behind the desk.
"Hi, Kolby Jones and Chachi West." Kolby responded.
She typed in our names on the computer in front of her and papers began to print out behind her. She quickly grabbed them and held them out in front of us. "Here you go, have a wonderful day back"
We grabbed our schedules and said thank you before entering into the main hallway.
Looking down I read my schedule. First I have Spanish III, English III, Pre-Calc, lunch, World History and Physics.
I was about to ask Kolby the classes she has when suddenly I ran into a hard chest and fell backwards.
My phone scattered and I had a moment of déjà vu.
"Jesus" I said looking up to see someone I hated just as much as Jessica. Her boyfriend Hunter.
"Who's the new chick?" He asked looking down at me and then at Kolby.
"She's not new you idiot it's Chachi" Kolby replied helping me up.
He laughed.
"The nerd? No way that's her are you blind." His friend Adam said looking me up and down.
"Yeah Chachi was a total dork and was fat." Hunter's other friend Noah said.
"Aren't you going to apologize?" Hunter asked.
"I'm s-sorry" I said looking down
He laughed again. "It's definitely Chachi, stuttering and looking stupid like always." he said walking away
I sighed as Kolby put her arm around me and handed me my phone. "This year is going to be a better one." I said to myself
"It will be better. You can't let these assholes get to you. You're beautiful and always were" she said.
"Thanks"
"You have to admit, Hunter is still really hot" she said pulling away and moving her eyebrows up and down.
"Shut up and let's go" I said rolling my eyes "I don't care how hot he is. I wouldn't date him if he was the last guy on Earth."
"So dramatic" She said rolling her eyes, "Have fun being alone then. I have to go to Geometry I'll see you later"
The late bell rang as I sighed and started walking to my first class. I walked in quickly and took a seat in the back.
"Buenos días clase" a short lady said walking into the classroom. "First I will take attendance then we'll get started"
She called a few names that I didn't know or didn't care about. Suddenly I froze when she called a name that I did not want to hear... Jessica Brown.
As if this day couldn't get any worse.
"Chachi West" the teacher called, and I raised my hand.
I looked to my right and saw Jessica glaring at me. Sometimes I wish I was as brave as Kolby and could stand up for myself. My appearance might have changed over the summer but that's it. As much as I would love to punch her, I'll always be the quiet nerd who gets walked on by everyone else. She was popular, pretty and everything that I'm not.
A girl that sat in front of me and another that sat beside me started a conversation with me. Their names were Erika and Lacey and we all had lunch together. We exchanged numbers so we could hang out sometime.
Erika is 16 with blonde hair and blue eyes and the most perfect tan. She just moved here from Florida with her twin brother, dad and stepmom.
Lacey is 16, she has short curly brown hair with hazel eyes. Lacey has been homeschooled her whole life and decided it was time for a change.
The bell rang and I went to my next class. Before I knew it, English and Pre-Calc flew by and I was now on my way to lunch. I walked through the cafeteria doors and immediately spotted Kolby. I also noticed she was sitting with Erika, Lacey and a guy I didn't recognize. I walked over and sat down.
"Hey guys" I said.
"Hey" they all said at the same time which made us all laugh. I looked over to the guy who was sitting in between Erika and Lacey.
"Chachi this is Luke, Luke this is Chachi" Lacey said introducing us
"Hi, it's nice to meet you" I said smiling
"This is my brother and he is also gay" Erika said proudly
Luke is also 16. He has dirty brown hair and instead of blue eyes he has brown. He's muscular like my brother Mikey.
"Why don't you just tell the entire world?" Luke said laughing
"You're cute for a gay guy you know that?" Kolby said
"Thanks?"
"Anyways, I heard you're in the same Spanish class as Jess" Kolby said changing the subject.
"Yeah but I'm hoping that's the only class that we have together." I said eating a French fry from Luke's lunch tray.
"Woah" Luke said staring at the doors of the cafeteria. I turned my head and saw my brother walking in with a girl latched onto his arm. Must be his new girlfriend.
"Who the hell is that hot guy?" Luke asked making me and Kolby laugh.
"What's so funny?" Lacey asked
I shook my head and continued to laugh "That 'hot guy' is sadly my older brother. His names Mikey."
Mikey saw me and walked towards me with his girlfriend.
"Hey little sis"
"Hey Mike" I said annoyed. "This is Lacey, Erika, her brother Luke and well you know Kolby." he nodded and looked right at Lacey and winked causing her to blush.
"Well it's nice to know that my sister has friends" he said
"Don't you have somewhere to be?" I asked with a raised brow. He looked at me for a few seconds and said bye to my friends and left with the girl still attached to him.
"I gotta go I'll see you guys later" I said walking quickly on my way to history. When I walked into the classroom I ran into a hard chest, once again.
"You can't get enough of me can you shortcake?" I looked up to see Hunter looking down at me.
"Well it's not my fault that you're always in the way" I said. I quickly covered my mouth realizing that I talked back.
He raised his eyebrow "Wow shortcake you can actually talk" he said smirking and turned around going back to his seat.
Shortcake? Who the hell does he think he is? I picked myself up from the floor and took a seat in the back. Hunter was a few seats away from me watching my every move. I didn't break eye contact with him until he decided to wink at me.
My cheeks flushed and I shook my head looking down. I swear I will keep my distance from him.
