I stayed in the library for about 10 minutes, trying to work on my homework that needs to be handed in tomorrow.
The tapping of my pencil clearly bothered those around me since all I received were glares. I sighed irritated and packed my bag knowing I need to clear my mind.
The bleachers were empty considering school was still in session and there was never a last period gym class. The football field was completely empty as well. Nothing but the sound of cars on the street could be heard from where I was sitting.
I sat there focusing on my breathing and stretching, hoping to calm my nerves. Jessica left me very irritated and I was confused as to what to do with the frustration. I inhaled deeply, stretching my arms above me. Then I exhaled and returned my arms to my side.
After 35 minutes had gone by a loud whistle interrupted my concentration. My left eye opened quickly to see the football players running onto the field for practice. I immediately spotted Hunter, completely forgetting about my frustration and meditation.
Just looking at him made me feel better and I felt a small smile form on my lips. I groaned loudly, smacking my forehead at my reaction to just seeing him.
"Stupid stupid stupid." I muttered, smacking my forehead each time. Whispers filled my ears and I quickly looked up to see the football team looking and pointing at me.
My cheeks flushed and Hunter caught my eye, standing there smiling brightly at me. I let my hair fall in front of my face as I put my head down looking at my notebook I took out when I first got here.
How do I explain this feeling?
After practice I said a quick bye to my brother and walked quickly to the gym with Hunter beside me. He was in an oddly happy mood but I wasn't in the mood for conversation. He picked up on this and kept talking even more, trying to get me to come out of my own bubble.
Once we actually made it inside the gym I realized how I wasn't okay at all.
I was mad. Plain and simple.
I took this boxing opportunity to let my anger out that I had been feeling since I left the Principal's office. Although I didn't hold back while swinging at Hunter, I also didn't get the chance for my fist to make contact with his face.I was able to get a few hits on his sides with the gloves I was wearing, but for the most part he was able to dodge them or block them. This small act had made me even more frustrated so he decided I should work on one of the punching bags that was hanging in the corner of the room.
I obliged and quietly went in the corner. He gave me tips on my stance, punches and breathing. I didn't say much but I listened to everything he had to say.
After 2 painful hours, I was exhausted. I wanted nothing more than for my face to make contact with my fluffy pillow. We decided to call it a day and headed back to my house.
I sighed annoyed over the same question he had been asking since we left the gym.
"Hunter I'm tired and hungry. Stop walking so slow, I just want to make it home already."
The sun was setting since the weather was changing. It was only 5 pm and the street lights were on and lighting up the sidewalks.
The breeze felt extremely cold considering it was almost the middle of November. Football season would be coming to an end soon, so I would no longer have to wait after school for the boys.
I shivered as a strong wind came out of nowhere and hit me like a brick wall. I pulled the light coat I was wearing closer to my body. I peeked over at Hunter who didn't seem bothered by the wind even though he was wearing a leather jacket.
