"Come on Tobin please just listen." Dad pleads.

I ignore him and slam my bedroom door. I plop down on my bed and put on my headphones turning on shuffle and blasting whatever comes on. I don't give two shits about him getting a new job. But now you want to move us to the other side of the fucking country?! Now I'm usually a very chill person but you don't understand. This house means a lot to me, its where all the good memories of my mom and I are. She died when I was thirteen so three years ago. My mom had cancer but she fought like hell until the end. She's the strongest person I know and I think about her everyday. Not only are we moving to a new house were moving to another state on the other side of the country. My door opens and dad comes in and sits on the edge of my bed. I sigh before taking off my headphones.

"Look I know your not happy about this but It'll be good for the both of us to get out of this house and start over. You haven't exactly had the best past here and I think you'll really like California. You've always had a chill personality and you can still surf and skateboard, not to mention they have a great soccer team. I just need you to give this a chance. Who knows you might like it." Dad says.

I look away from dad because he makes this stupid face that makes me laugh no matter how angry or upset I am at him. He moves closer to me and I know what he's about to do but before I can run he grabs me and starts tickling me.

"DAD STOP!" I say in between laughs.

"Say you'll give it a try and I'll stop." Dad says.

"OKAY! OKAY! I'll give it a try!" I yell.

He stops tickling me and lays next to me on my bed. My dad is my best friend, after mom died he really stepped up. I know he's broken but he never let's me see him down.

"I love you Tobin." Dad says.

"I love you too dad." I say.

"Now come on the game is on and I ordered pizza." Dad says.

We both go into the living room and watch Manchester United vs Crystal Palace while eating. The game ends, ManU wins 1-2. When the game is over I head to bed.

...

2 weeks later

I grab the last of my bags and put them in the trunk of our car. I go back into the house and look at the now empty rooms. Empty rooms that have memories that can't be replaced.

"Come on Tobin we're going to miss our flight!" Dad yells from the car.

I take a deep breath before going back downstairs and closing the door. I go to the passenger side of the car and take one last look at the house before getting into the car. Dad pulls off and I look back at the house until I'm unable to see it. We get to the airport and check in our bags. The TSA lines are super long so it takes us a while to get through them. But once we do our flight is called and we are able to board the plane. Dad and I get to our seats, I'm by the window and he's in the middle. Nobody is sitting next to us which is a plus. The plane takes off and I look out the window at the town I'm leaving behind. I take a deep breath and lay my head back on my seat, closing my eyes. I feel someone grab my hand and I look over and see its dad. He gives me a nod which is our thing. Its such a small gesture but for us it means everything. I give him the nod back and close my eyes. It takes a while but I fall asleep. I wake up to dad shaking me.

"Hey, we're landing soon." Dad says.

I nod my head and get myself ready to get off the plane. The plane lands and I grab my things and get off the plane. Dad and I get our luggage and go to the front of the airport. There is a guy holding a sign with our last name on it so we make our way over to him.

"Mr.Heath?" The guy ask.

"Yes, and you are?" Dad ask.

"My name is Jake and I work for the company. I'm suppose to escort you to your home and show you around a little so you know how to get from here to there without getting lost. Everything has already been arranged upon your arrival." Jake says.

"Well thank you Jake." Dad says.

"Yeah no problem. Put your bags in the back and we'll be on our way." Jake says.

Dad and I put our luggage in the back and get in the car. I put on my headphones because I don't really feel like talking or listening to Dad and Jake talk. An hour or so later we pull up to this house and I have to admit it looks pretty cool. Dad and I get our bags out the trunk of the car and follow Jake inside.

"So as you can see everything is set up, the only thing you need to do is buy food. I'll leave you guys alone to get settled. If you need anything don't hesitate to call." Jake says.

"Well thank you." Dad says.

Jake nods his head then leaves. I grab my things and go upstairs to find my bedroom. I don't really have to find it because the house only has two bedrooms. They are both the same size so I just take the one that has the view of the backyard. After a few hours I have all my clothes set and posters on the wall. I go downstairs and watch TV, Dad goes to the store to get food and things. When he comes back we make dinner, eat, then go to bed. I lay in my room and just think about my life now. I mean, I guess it won't be so bad living on the West Coast.
