Chapter Nine

Its about an hour drive from our house to the school. That's if the traffic is good and because its the weekend traffic sucks ass. Making this drive an hour and a half minimum, great.

"What do we need to talk about?" I ask.

I'm genuinely interested...for the most part. Listen I might be a douche but at least I'm an honest douche, for the most part.

"Tobin I can't do this. Whatever the hell you wanna call what were doing." Alex says.

See now I'm really fucking confused. Things have been awkward between Alex and I since Christen became my girlfriend. Which I expected but not to this extent. But now what does she mean by, "Whatever the hell you wanna call what were doing?"

"Well Alex, what do you want to do?"

"We're going to try to be sisters."

I don't respond. I'm so damn confused, isn't this what we decided in the first place?! The rest of the drive is silent and I don't have a problem with it. We finally get to the field and everyone is already here, I hate being the last one. Alex and I get our things out the car and make our way to the field.

"We were all wondering when you two were going to show up." Syd says.

"Sorry, traffic from the new house is ridiculous." Alex says.

"Oh yeah, I forgot you guys were moving in together today. How's it going?" Pinoe says.

"So far, so good." I say.

Alex and I make our way to the bench and put our things down. I open my bag and start putting my gear on. Christen comes over and sits next to me.

"Hey." Christen says.

"Hey." Christen says.

"Hey." I respond.

I lean over and kiss Christen on the lips, making her blush. She gets really embarrassed when I do about anything to her in front of people. She's just a really quite person and doesn't like being the center of attention. We told the team about us awhile ago, even if they didn't know they would have eventually have found out. I mean our school gossips A LOT. But we didn't mention the part where Alex and I were together. Hope and Ash were the only ones we told and they know that we can't be together so they just dropped it.

"Okay enough talk, let's do a couple laps, get some stretching in, and get this game started." Abby says as she claps her hands together.

This woman has an intensity I can never reach. We line up and start our lap around the field.

"Dude what are you guys doing tonight?" I ask.

I'm running with Hope and Ashlyn, which is no surprise. Everyone on the team has a person or multiple people they run with.

"Nothing, why?" Hope asks.

"I want you guys to come over." I say.

"I'm down." Ashlyn says.

Once we finish with our two laps Boxxy and Cap lead us through our stretches. They are our captains so they pick the teams.
