Morgan POV

The guy from earlier handed me my sketchbook, loose papers hanging out of it.

Me: Thanks.

Guy: Your welcome.

I stood up and was about to walk away when he stepped in front of me, his eyes looking at the floor. I looked at him as he coughed, a small laugh leaving my mouth.

Me: You look nervous. Trying to say something?

Guy: Oh no! I just wanted to ask if that girl earlier was your friend.

Me: You mean Riza? Sorta. I'm just someone who tries to keep her out of trouble, besides her little sister, but that's a story for another time. I've got to get to class so if you'd excuse me.

I walked past him and made my way down the hallway, his footsteps rushing to fall in step with me, my head raising to look at him again as his hand gripped his bag strap.

Guy: What class do you have now?

Me: Why do you want to know?

Guy: Well I was wondering if I could walk you to class. I mean if you wanted to...

I caught the blush in his cheeks and grinned, my hands clutching my sketchbook closer to my chest.

Me: Sure. I mean, if you want to be late to yours.

Guy: I'm already late as it is and I can just tell them I had to use the bathroom.

We fell silent as we walked down the hallway, our feet echoing around us, my eyes glancing up to take in his figure. His body was built like a football player, but his personality tells me that he has a soft heart, glasses saying that he has smarts. Wearing a leather jacket and skinny jeans makes him somewhat popular, but if he was talking to me then he has friends who aren't.

Guy: What's your name?

Me: What?

We stopped in front of the art room and I glanced up at him, his body leaning against the lockers behind him, hands going into his pockets.

Guy: What's your name? I wanted to see if I could hang out with you during lunch. So it's easier if I knew your name.

My head fell and my hair fell over my face, covering my blushed up cheeks, a small grin on my face. I put my hand on the doorknob and looked up, my face turning into a grin.

Me: Why not tell me yours first and then we'll be even?

Guy: Seriously?

I nodded and turned the knob, threatening to go inside, but he held out a hand, placing it on top of mine, stopping me. Our eyes met and I caught the blush in his cheeks, a small smile appearing on my face. I was about to move away when I felt his hand squeeze mine, his head moving down towards mine.

Me: (Whispering) I...

Guy: (Whispering) It's Nate.

I moved closer towards him as his mouth moved closer to mine, my eyes falling closed.

Me: (Whispering) Morgan...

We were about to meet halfway when a scream echoed through the hall, both of us jumping apart. I turned around as the lights around us flickered off, the screams getting louder and louder.

Me: Phoenix...

I spirited away as Nate yelled out my name, his feet behind me, following me as I ran down the hallway, my books clutched to my chest.
