Margaret did not react well to the news of what had happened at the Quidditch World Cup, but she reacted better than what Eleanor and Remus expected. Neither could blame her for her reaction as it wasn't something as simple as a magical accident, but rather an attack on muggles. Fortunately, the fact that Eleanor, Remus, and Lyall had walked away without injury was enough to calm her down. But it did lead to further discussion of Death Eaters, who they served, and the dark history of the Wizarding World. Part of Eleanor waited for the moment where Margaret would become hysterical, but it never came.
Of course, she still needed a moment to process everything, but by the end of it all, Margaret only asked if there was anything she could do to help. Unfortunately, in her position, there was little she could do physically, but her support was enough for Eleanor.
Days after the Quidditch World Cup, Dermot was constantly bringing in the Daily Prophet, the headlines doing no favour for the Ministry's reputation. While Eleanor felt for workers like Mr Weasley and Mr Diggory, she couldn't bring herself to disagree with a lot that was being stated in the articles. Rita Skeeter was well known for coming up with lavish stories and stretching the truth, more for entertainment than acting as a news source.
But Eleanor silently agreed with the lack of security held at the World Cup, not for the sake of the wizards that were complaining about their ruined luxury tents, but more so, for the sake of the Roberts family, that was barely mentioned.
Remus understood his daughter's concern and her anger towards what had occurred, but with Eleanor starting up her sixth year at Hogwarts in just a couple of days, he wanted to spend time with her, rather than have her obsess over the latest Daily Prophet headline. So, he proposed taking her last-minute school shopping as they both came to realise that she didn't have any of her needed school supplies, her book list included.
He figured they could spend the afternoon in Diagon Alley and then invite Harry over for dinner as Eleanor had originally planned, along with Grandpa Lyall. It also gave him the opportunity to pick up a special package that he and Margaret had ordered for Eleanor's upcoming term. Eleanor was completely unaware of the special events that would be taken place at the school, but they were sure she was going to enjoy herself.
"So, what's sixth year like?" Eleanor asked him as they walked along to Flourish and Blotts that afternoon. "I already know about the N.E.W.Ts but is there anything I should know other than that?"
"Well," Remus said, scratching the underside of his chin, "as I remember, you'll find yourself with a lot more time on your hands."
Her eyes lit up in excitement because after going through hell to do well on her O.W.Ls, some free time sounded wonderful, however, there seemed to be a catch.
"But you're not going to be able to use it for the things you want to use it for," Remus continued, "a lot of it you're going to want to spend on studying properly and getting homework done. But I see nothing wrong in using some of that time towards an occasional shenanigan."
