There wasn't much time for Eleanor to beg for Fred's forgiveness as the two parties parted ways, with the Lupin family joining Cedric and Amos at their campsite located in the second field of the campgrounds. They were looking for a man by the name of Mr Payne, the adults leading the way while Cedric and Eleanor trailed behind, both of them still trying to recover by the sudden onset of embarrassment that had been unleashed on them that morning.
Thankfully, Lyall had plenty of experience handling muggle money due to his time being around Hope for many years, which he was easily able to pay when they arrived at the campgrounds.
"Dad," Eleanor grabbed Remus by the sleeve, pulling him close enough so she could whisper, "why are they hosting such a large wizarding event on muggle grounds? Isn't that incredibly suspicious? Aren't muggles going to question what event is even taking place? Look at how many tents and people there are here!"
A quick scan of the field alone, revealed hundreds of tents crowded together, and as Eleanor continued to question the lack of secrecy over the event, she caught sight of several wizards in the distance, wearing the oddest combination of muggle clothes as if it were casual wear. She was beginning to think that "Muggle Studies" should become a required class at Hogwarts because it was just downright ridiculous to see how some magical folk attempted to portray muggles.
Of course, as she spoke, a group of wizards appeared, apparating on the scene just a few lengths away from where Eleanor and Remus stood. And seconds later, another wizard appeared, pointing his wand at Mr Payne and obliviating him on the spot. It seemed to answer her question as to how they were managing such a large activity on muggle grounds, but the answer wasn't one that she liked.
"Really? That's the solution?" Eleanor whispered harshly as it was time for them to move on and find their spot to put up the tent. "They're just going to spend the day obliviating muggles? You know, when we've gone over them in class, memory charms can be dangerous. One mistake and it can cause brain damage!"
"Ellie, I think it's best not to worry about such things right now," Remus said with a small, yet sympathetic smile. "We know the Ministry isn't the most competent when it comes to arranging things. And they don't seem to care much for muggles unless it affects them. I understand why you're upset, but don't let this ruin your day. Why don't you and Cedric explore the grounds? I'm sure there are plenty of vendors around selling souvenirs. You might find something you like. The match doesn't start for a while, go out and have some fun."
While Eleanor didn't feel like the Ministry should be left off the hook so easily, she didn't bring herself to argue with Remus. For one, there wasn't much she could do besides complain, and that would just bring the mood down, which wasn't fair to everyone there. She nodded her head before turning to Cedric, motioning that they head out. Cedric grabbed some money from his father before the two of them started to make their way through the crowds of gathered witches and wizards.
