"yeah? what's that?" i ask, skeptically.
"you date one of his best friends, so he'll realize that he was supposed to be with you all along," nate responds.
"yeah, only i'm not going to pretend that i like one of his friends and pray he asks me out just so i can dump him eventually. that's the meanest thing someone could do," i retort, crossing my arms.
"not if we find someone who's willing to participate in this scheme," xander suggests.
i look at him. "who do you have in mind?"
"well, we can use jace's best friend, noah," he responds. "i don't think he knows isabela, so we can tell him about her and how she isn't the best fit for jace. he'll want to help his best friend, so he'll willingly do it."
"mags, do you even know noah?" nate asks, attempting to find some clarity in the situation.
"i've met him a few times in the neighborhood when he'd go over to his house," i say, pointing at xander, "so i guess i do."
"i can contact him to set something up?" xander suggests.
i nod, giving him a smile.
"guess we're getting our jace back. and i guess you'll be getting him, mags," he responds, winking at me.
