Sonic's POV

Shadow finally let me go out with him. Möbius looks a lot different than it did before I joined Shadow's little gang of rebels. It did get a whole lot more dangerous and guarded.

Shadow and I had split, due to two scouts that spotted us. I had lost the scout behind me due to my speed. I just hope Shadow was okay.

Shadow's POV

"Yargh!" I growled like a pirate as I got dragged into this sword fight with this weirdo scout. I honestly didn't know much about the sword, but when it comes to laser guns I'm excellent.

"Shut up you idiot!" Growled the scout.

"As ye may wish. Arrr!" I teased. He tried stabbing my side, but I moved. Then the other side. "Oops! Missed, now my turn."

"Huh?" He looked at me. I kicked him, and he fell. I took his sword.

"Ha!" I pointed both at him.

"Not so fast." I turned to three other scouts with laser guns. "Fire!" They all missed me by a mile.

"Looks like you need target pract-" I fell backward. I felt a burning sensation over my left eye.

"Spoke too soon..." I knew that voice.

Knuckles...

Narrator's POV

The scouts hurried over to Shadow, but he was gone.

"Dammit!" Someone brought a chair so Knuckles could kick it. "Ha!" He kicked it. He kicked it like three times, a scout ran away knowing what would come his way. Knuckles picked up the chair and threw it. It landed on top of the scout who ran. "Dammit! Can't any of you do anything right?! Report back to the Master!" He shouted.

Shadow's POV

I couldn't see. My vision was blurry and leaving me. I have no idea where I chaos controlled. Then I saw a blue form about 30 yards from me. "Sonic?" It turned to me. "Sonic!" I tried my best to run to him, but he ran to me. I was weak, I was dizzy. I couldn't see. His face was too blurry to see up close. "Sonic..." I put a hand to his cheek, it was as cold as ice. "Sonic?"

His finger tips touched me, they were freezing. "Scanning victim..."

His voice was so monotone. "Shit! Robot!" I reached for my blaster.

"Weapon detected." He took my blaster, I heard it being torn to pieces. "Report back to the Master."

"Shadow!" I heard his voice.

"Small threat detected."

"Small? Excuse me, I am Sonic!" I couldn't see anything, but I heard a loud crash, and I was soon on the ground.

"Malfunction. Error. Error. Malfunction." Then the robot quit speaking.

"Shadow." I felt hands helping me up. "Come on guys, let's take him back to the base." I heard Sonic's voice.

"Sonic. Where are you?" I couldn't see anything. Dammit! I felt a hand take mine.

"I'm here Shadow. We're taking you back to the base now." I heard his sweet voice say, then everything went black.

uuuu-ppp... Shaaaadow." Voices echoed. Snapping happened by my ears. I could see a bright light in front of me with two people who looked like they were several of them. They had millions of twins. A light shown in one of my eyes.

"Argh!" I tried blocking the light. I squinted. "G-Get that thing out of my face!" I growled.

"He's awake." I sat up, everything was blurry, I couldn't see anything out of my left eye through. "Go get Sonic."

"Sonic? Where is he?" I asked.

"He's coming. Just try to sit down and relax. How do you feel?" Asked Tails.

"I feel like you should let me get up before I brake you." I growled at him. "Where's Sonic?"

"Shadow relax, it was probably the amnesia that made you so grumpy." Tails responded.

"Shadow?" Heard his sweet voice.

"Sonic?" I asked.

"You're okay. Thank goodness." I felt two arms wrap around me. I wrapped my own around him, I tightened my grip on his shirt. We parted. I still couldn't see his beautiful face. "What happened? How did this happen?"

"Sonic, I can't see you. Everything is so blurry."

"Let's not worry about that now. Tell me what happened." I felt a hand on my thigh.

"It's a stupid mistake really. I guess I teased the scouts to their limit." I chuckled nervously.

"Oh Shadow. When are you gonna learn that you're not immortal?" He asked. I tried my best to look at him.

"Um, I practically am." I smiled nervously, but Sonic flicked his fingers on my forehead. "Ow..."

"Don't be a smart one around me."

"I just got shot with a laser gun in the face, and you still flick me?" I asked him.

"Oh, my bad." I received a blow in the stomach. "Is that better?"

"That's...a bit...better." I groaned. All the air had been taken out of my lungs.

"You're so stubborn..." I heard him walk out of the infirmary.

"Looks like someone's got a bit of an attitude." Tails said. He was moving something.

"Yeah, but I like it when he gets cocky. I just wish I would have seen that cocky smirk, and the way he places his hand on his waist."

"If you keep thinking like that, he's gonna kick your rear end."

"Yeah, but that's why I love him." I smiled, and sat on the edge of the bed. I noticed I was in a hospital gown. I got up, but fell back on the bed.

"Whoa, Shadow. You can't get up yet." I heard Tails say.

I got up again, I was dizzy, unstable, and blind.

"Shadow, wait. Sit back down. You can't get up yet. I still need to do some tests."

"I'm as good as new." I said standing up and leaning against the wall. I started to walk around.

"Shadow wait."

"Not now Tails." I see the exit, I just need to walk to it. I walked with my arms in front of me. Ha! There! "Ow..." I hit something hard.

"Shadow? You okay? You just ran into the wall."

"Yes, I'm fine. I may need to lie down." I said walking back to the bed. That hurt.
