Finally Realized

Sonic's POV

I was running around town looking around for Shadow's body. No one had seen him, and there was no signs the Knuckles took him. I ran over to last house. I went through the the blanket that covered the doorway.

"Scout Sonic, what are you doing h-" I couldn't hear her over the loss of concentration by the hard hit I just received on the face. She gasped and covered her mouth. I fell to the dirt below me. I wiped some blood away from my nose.

"What the-" I was picked up by the shirt by a hooded stranger and pushed against the wall. He brought a knife to my neck. Rouge gasped.

"You think you can mess around with me? I was better off burned than recovering from this foul injury!" He shouted.

"I don't know what you're talking about and- Wait a second." Burned? His body was about to be burned! Than this means... "Shadow?" I asked.

"How do you know me? And how do know my name?" He asked bringing the knife closer to my throat. I stared at him. "Answer me!" I pressed my body against his, I hugged him not caring if the knife caused an injury.

"I missed you! I thought you were dead." I hugged him tighter. He pulled me away.

"I don't know you." He said looking into my eyes. They showed anger, yet fear... He's gonna kill me for this.

I pressed our lips together.

Shadow's POV

Everything froze, everything around me was white. There was a small ringing in my ears. I looked around, there were memories...bubbles in my mind. All of them were of him. There's the day we met, the time I stole his stuff. Wait, isn't that when I took him to see the stars? So it wasn't a dream...

I looked over at the one displaying me hugging him.

Tears started to form themselves at the corner of my eyes. I looked down at my hands and dropped to my knees. How could I not realized it before? He loves me... I've been so selfish. I wasn't listening to my heart when it was calling for me. I was blind and failed to see what was really important to me
